Ok....You Ready? Here It Goes....

The UN has declared new rules for Iran's Nuclear program...On another note Iran captured 15 marines and sailors from a British ship because they presumably crossed into Iranians territory. Tony Blair says "Hog Wash" no such thing" but Iran is taking these British marines and sailors to court. Iran doesn't give a Rats Behind on what the UN says. Sounds like someone has issues and trying to make a statement here..HMMM? What's next? Give me your opinions or views on this and tell us why you feel this way. Thank you!

I think we are paying for it now-Saddam was the perfect person to control terrorism-I think we kinda see now why someone like him rose to power. I don't think the next leader of Iraq will be a nice guy either. Thanks to the Chickenhawk neo-cons for this War,

Several conservative avatars here on YA keep referring to liberals who spit on the returning soldiers from Iraq. I know this happened 35 years ago with the Vietnam War, but I have not see/heard/read anything of this sort happening currently. Is this happening and can you provide a source to substantiate those claims? Or are these accusers simply reverting to hyperbole in an attempt to bolster an empty argument?

I think that would be a horrible thing to do to a soldier; I want to know if it really is happening.

I would like to ad a disclaimer before I post this question that has been troubling me for the past four years.
Do you think the Union would have won The Civil War if it had refused to supply the Army and Navy with enough soldiers and Sailors and equipment to carry the fight deceively to the South by controling the borders and transportation of commerce to and from the Southern States?
So, do you think Bush studied anything like history, at all, before he planned to dramatically change the face of the Middle East?

Before I start I am a veteran of the Air Force, and I will say that I now have a great job and a great life because of the skills and knowledge i aquired during my service. I wont say it was only the AF, BUT it contributed greatly to my success now. And i might have done as well without the AF, but i can only talk about the experience i've had so far.

Now my proposition:
2 years of mandatory military service, either after high school or after college, making you either enlisted or officer.

MANY countries in the world have service like this. I think it has many benefits to the nation as a whole; better trained workforce, they get to see the rest of the world, and realize that there really ARE other coutries, people, and cultures out there.

Good Idea?
Bad Idea?
What problems do you think it solves?
What problems do you think this causes?

just curious what people think.

I served in the army and choose not to re-enlist, however, because my husband is active duty, i am thinking of re-enlisting as an officer. Is this at all possible? Besides a family care plan for the children (3), what is the other criteria I will need? Thanks to all who respond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And it seemed as though I didn't say enough, because I could'nt stop the tears. Now that he and all the other Soldiers are there fighting for the liberties that half of them haven't even experienced yet.....this is an opportunity to say something to them....If you you could put it "simply" what would you say to our men and women fighting for US.
