You are on the wrong side of the angels here. We are very determined to put an end to the Israeli threat. They have nuclear rockets aimed at us. US leaders provided the atomic threats and taught them how to destroy us. That was the terrible, terrible thing that was done. It cannot be ignored.

What's very important to me is that I have steady hours in my job, as close to a M-F 9-5 job as possible. (morning, evening, or graveyard shift doesn't make a difference) - but I do need steady hours.
I'm very aware that combat jobs and jobs involving going into the field are not steady at all.

My recruiter says petroleum supply specialist is steady hours, but another recruiter says it is NOT. Does anybody know?

Any suggestions for a steady hour job?

So 15 British Navy sailors managed to get themselves nabbed by the Iranians on the tenuous grounds they strayed into their waters, ostensibly, because said British sailors can't read their maps & GPS etc., even though there's a mother ship lurking about somewhere directing it all!

Yeah right!

Now If it had been a bunch of marines from the Kindergarten Continent who'd gone wandering where they shouldn't, I'd be more inclined to believe it. Their trigger happy military personnel afterall like straffing our soldiers on the ground & from the air, so who knows? If it had been american sailors, it could well have been incompetence or them just nosing about on a reconnoiter for when they get the OK from the UN to start dropping their nice expensive laser guided bunker buster bombs on that country too!

Isn't taking these sailors just an 'up-the-anti' ploy - with the naughty Iranians striving to go 'nuclear', probably being 'in bed' with various arms dealers wanting to get richer?

i think we really need to let our voices heard. these anti war people need to go away, take the press out of this war and quit tying are hands behind our backs, let them do the job that they need to do, and stop pussyfooting around! and our state,and federal reps, need to step down. we need to start over in congress,sen. lets fund the war with what we need and put an end to all the madness

So, my boyfriend is going to be stationed in Hawaii, and he would like me to live with him. We are essentially engaged, but not getting married for a few years. He is a private and nothing more yet, so does anyone know the policy and rules about it? Perhaps I won't be able to live with him until his rank is different?

For example 2nd Lt. is a Gold bar, while 1st Lt. is Silver, likewise Major is a Gold Oak leaf and Lt. Col. is a Silver one. It seems counter-intuitive. What is the military tradition that makes this different for the military, than for all other ranks/awards?

but want to go to special forces after my bootcamp is it possible?is their anyone i can talk to while im in bootcamp about joining the special forces or do they expect something else besides knowing infantry?i got infantry to be fit for the special forces then i was thinking about takin it after bootcamp can i?can anyone help me to try to find any answers on this because im already about to ship out like i said but i want to join special forces.

ago in Afganistan. Sorry i forget the soldiers name, he was former pro football player, killed by friendly fire, but initial story covered up by the military. My question is if generals will lie about something like this, don't you wonder if they ever tell the truth, I hope they all get court martialed and dishonorable discharges.......but since they will be judged by fellow generals they will all probably get pay raises. Your thoughts? I'm a 'Nam vet. Just remembered his name, it's Tilman.

If a car is coming you move away but tillman saw a bullet and got shot ,he should have ducked the army, only the brainless enlist for the meat grinder. And for those that think that killing civilians is honorable , please consult the Vienam vets they know better. Obviouslt our Vietnam vets got killed and these new recruit do not see the lesson left by our vet from Vietnam.
