It's something I have wanted to do for a long time, and I am so excited for this experience. I'm a little nervous, is that pretty normal? I know it will be difficult, but I'm just very excited. That's all. Kind of a lame question, sorry.

and what do you think of pres. Bush not knowing any one over there and still saying "i support our troops", and the fact that he SAID he KNEW that more people were going to die but he's still going to send 21000 more troops over there. personally i think its crap that ENG. can send their princes over to iraq (I know its not going to be in any danger zone but still i give them props for even going) and Bush would never send his military elg. daughters over there.

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said Monday he considers homosexuality to be immoral and the military should not condone it by allowing gay personnel to serve openly.
A smooth tactic to get our minds off the imorality and deception of the Iraq invasion?

Nude photographs
On November 11, 2003, Larry Flynt announced to the Associated Press he purchased photographs of a "fully nude" Lynch who was "frolicking with the soldiers" in an Army barracks. Flynt told the press that the soldiers who sold him the photos "wanted to let it be known that she's not all apple pie."
She was a wild lady they said.

I have noticed a shortage of ammunition all across the country.. Mainly the military variety.. ie 9mm, 223, 308 and 50 bmg.. It seems that you can not find these any where.. I was wondering why... Perhaps it is due to a military shortage abroad... Any way if you know please let me know...

Like when the Spartan council doesn't want to go to war against the Persions, but Leonidas sends 300 of his best troops anyway. Then, they dont support him or want to send reinforcements. Sounds familiar?

The USA Government and the American troops will soon walk in abject shame and eat crow when they lose Iraq. Those who believed in this war started on lies will soon see defeat and all of us anti war people can say "I told you so". The USA should have learned from the failed Vietnam war. War supporters should have learned too. Shame on the American Government.

What do you think of the Victoria Cross being given to the Unknown Soldier? Wasn’t he laid to rest at the War Memorial to represent all of us? Having a Victoria Cross doesn’t really represent us does it? I think you’ll agree we’ve all done some pretty outstanding things but nothing worthy of that. I don’t agree with this one bit. What do you think.

I've been curious as to what veterans and soldiers think about the whole situation in Iraq. What do you think about it? Do you think the U.S. should be there? Has the right to be there? What are your opinions on the management of the war so far? What should be changed there? Any other opinions relating to this are welcome.

note: I'd appreciate it if ONLY veterans and/or soldiers responded, unless you are in a related position and think your opinion would be helpful to answering the question.

I'll be graduating with a Master's of Public Administration in April and I'm 24. I've been throwing around the idea of joining the Air Force or possibly the Coast Guard.

I've heard that one with a graduate degree goes in with Officer status, but quite frankly I have no idea what that all entails. I have looked at the websites and it doesn't do a lot for me.

I'm currious to know how quickly does one move up the ranks with this degree or what branch is the best for promotions? How is the AF with one that wants to continue their education by gaining a doctorate? or for example wanting to be a pilot? 20/20 non corrective eyesight for me. Any insight will be much appreciated. What are your thoughts? Thanks
