I believe it was something along the lines of "if you don't get a decent education, well... you get stuck in Iraq"... He said it was a "botched" joke against George Bush.. Pretty much saying that Dubya is Dumbya and that's why the U.S. is at war in Iraq...

"Education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
From Kerry in 1971 about his brothers in arms:
"They had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the country side of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country."
And from Charles Rangel:
"I want to make it abundantly clear: if there’s anyone who believes that these youngsters want to fight, as the Pentagon and some generals have said, you can just forget about it. No young, bright individual wants to fight just because of a bonus and just because of educational benefits. And most all of them come from communities of very, very high unemployment. If a young fella has an option of having a decent career or joining the army to fight in Iraq, you can bet your life that he would not be in Iraq."

The first part of the "joke" was something like, "if you don't study hard and get an education," the punchline was "you get stuck in a war in Iraq." He claims he meant to put the word "us" in there, but it took him two days to make that statement.
