Yes, female Seabees do build things, but they do not fight on the front lines per Congress laws pertaining to women in combat.
There are trained to fight, weapons training, land nav, etc, etc. And yes they are deployed to combat zones, some from my Seabee Reserve unit just got back a couple months ago.

The CB's of today aren't the same as the ones during WW2. Today they just build stuff. Nothing more than a skilled worker in cammies.

Seebees use to be experts in constuction, and also destruction. I don't know what they do now.
