I yelled to a Iraqi war veteran to go to **** and this 58 year old man in Mt Clemens ran up to me and told me I should be ashamed of myself. I said "Yea! Well, you taught me how and what to say. He looked puzzled...I said...In 1970 when I was in the military you ran up to me and cussed me out and called me a fxxx. ( He was 22 at the time) So I said Thanks for the time to show me how to treat the troops. I now treat the troops the way America taught me when I was in the military uniform.

Source: Me. Note: I treat the war Veterans of today the way I was treated back in 1969. The Americans have taught me well. If it was OK back in 1969 to 1975 why not now?

My Grandfather recently died... and he had served in the SS in WWII. I'm the only member in my family that has acknowledged this, and so... he left me all his stuff, a couple boxes full of what I suppose would be Nazi memorabilia, now. Like, two uniforms, a K98, Nazi silverware... that sort of thing. I'm mildly uncomfortable with owning all of this, and I'm wondering if sending it to a museum, like the Smithsonian, would be a good idea, since most of the items are in very good shape...

In 1969 I was proud to serve. I was told "We will win in Vietnam.....We will endure.....We will not turn our backs on the new Government of Vietnam.....Then the USA ran like scared puppies on 30th April 1975 and lost the war.......Fast forward to 2007.....A new war ( Well... 4 years old ) We hear "We will win!! We will endure!! Etc...Etc...Once again the USA started a worthless war like Vietnam.......Once again we will lose like Vietnam. Is this why I'm ashamed to say I'm a military Veteran? The USA starts worthless wars. ( Korea...Vietnam...Iraq...)

It was represented as a horrible number and it is. But down playing the amount of deaths in durfur said the 400,000 was way over the number killed. That it was in fact not much over 200,000
Why is it a horrible carnage to kill 35000 in Iraq. When they call the low estimate of 200,000 as nothing in durfur?
Which the UN says is untrue that the number is actually in the milions.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A truck exploded Saturday as worshippers left a Sunni mosque west of Baghdad, killing at least 35 people and injuring more than 60 in an apparent sign of increased internal Sunni battles between insurgents and those opposing them. The United States military stood by and observed the carnage.

was it a good idea considering 9/11 should it have never started @all? Should we continue on sending more troops 2 battle? or pull out, with the idea the battle was never ours to begin with.

I have requested a later shipping date, which took a week for my recruiter to get me in contact with the right people to be able to request, the the MSGT i talked to told me I need to write a letter and he would submit it. I don't know if this is the proper procedures or just the run around. I have cited that my current ship out date would cause financial hardship on my parents do to a series of event having to do with my medical bills, college loans and other bills. I asked if i couldn't get a new date to be released from DEP with the option to later return. Is it really that difficult to get a date change when you did not already have a job just a guaranteed Aptitude area? what are the chance of my date getting changed. they asked for a notarized letter from my parents, but my parents would prefer I just not enlist.... so instead i gave the option of date change or release. Just wanna know the odds of getting it changed! and what to do if the don't!

I am an 18 year old college student, joining Naval ROTC next semester. I am excited to join the military as I have wanted to since I was a little girl, but I was wondering what the risk of sexual assault at the hands of fellow servicemen was. I have read several news exposees on the mistreatment of women serving in the military and the subordinate position they can be forced into, so I was wondering what I can realistically anticipate regarding the respect I would receive from my male counterparts and the dangers of sexual predation. Please advise.

What would happen if a soldier deserted the army after completing basic. If he got a leave and does not return. Is there any way he can get out? he has an injury that occurred in basic but they don't seem to care. they just gave him pain killers and keep working him. He can hardly run, but is forced to do so in pain. What can be done?
