Was it just 9/11?

Cos if it was it seems like a whole lotta fuss over not alot.
Don't get me wrong, terrorists are a threat, they just don't seem to be as big of a threat as the governments seem to portray.
Perhaps there are more important things to spend billions of dollars on.

If not, what about the Marines and Navy? Offically, the Marines are part of the Navy so does an enlisted in the Marines have to follow orders from an officer in the Navy?

Ive been debating on whether to enlist into the Marines as 0331 (Machine Gunner) or to take a shot at Army Ranger. Im obviously not making a decision of the answers on this but I just want to see what other people besides the Recruiters say. Ive been to both, a Marnes and Army, recruiter and its about time I need to make a decision. Im leaning towards the Marines, because Hell; its the Marines, need I say more? But what does anyone else out there think?

I just read something on CNN about Cheney saying that "all options are on the table" for Iran if Iran doesnt stop with nuclear proliferation. I was just thinking that if the military option was on the table the size of the military would need to increase. So are they trying to beef up the size of the army to prepare for conflict with Iran?

May is largely expected to be the zero-hour month for the US strike on Iranian nuclear plants (and other fundamental economic and infrastructure targets). What can one expect to see Iran do, in response to US attack against it? What about Israel: the easily reachable for heavy caliber Iranian missiles? You think another 1991 episode would be likely? And how efficient are Israel's defense strategies; same as the Patriot failures in 1991?

They are members of the United Nations. This organisation agreed to support Afghasnistan. Britain, USA, Canda, and others sent fighting troops. But these country refused. Granted, they sent troops out there, but only to act as NAAFI waiters - no fighting, pleeeese.
Should they be kicked out of the UN for welching on a deal, and left to fend for themselves?

Was watching a documentary about fighter aircraft on the military channel. It said at one time US fighters carried nuclear air to air missiles that would destroy a whole enemy squadron at once. They have been retired since.I wonder why and did they really retire them or just say they did.I would be a powerful deterrent.
