I just read something on CNN about Cheney saying that "all options are on the table" for Iran if Iran doesnt stop with nuclear proliferation. I was just thinking that if the military option was on the table the size of the military would need to increase. So are they trying to beef up the size of the army to prepare for conflict with Iran?

It will take much more for the US Military to get involved in Iran. Currently with two areas of operation the military is accomplishing it's mission. No matter what people say there will always be those that will oppose the US in any country. The military has been in Korea since the early 50's (a truce was signed) and Germany since the end of WWII. Right now the Iran situation is pure political, as is the one with N. Korea. With the world situation and political climate, I doubt that they will get involved in an altercation with Iran.

Iran wont be like Iraq, its not going to be a long holding like Vietnam or Iraq. We wont occupy Iran, I mean we'll probably invade and take land, but not occupy them for years and years like Iraq.

Iran will be a total war, not like Iraq. I think that Israel will cover alot of the groundpounding, while the US bombs them back to the stone age w/ Americas Navy and Air Force. We'll have boots on the ground, but it will be more of a bombing the Hell out of them war, not an occupation.

So no, I dont think America NEEDS to increase its Military size. Theres already enough American firepower sitting next to Iran (Not in Iraq, in the Gulf) to blow it away 10 times over right this second.

We can already reach out and touch 2 million soldiers.

I would like to see at least two more divisions stood up.
