Maybe you all should be thinking about the REAL victim...The family across the street who just lost their youngest son to a roadside bombing...and you're here...talking trash about the US government...which ultimately was their son.

War is necessary part of our world.World peace is not attainable. As long as there are people that want you dead, you are going to have to fight back and protect yourself. If you fight for your country and get injured, you should feel proud to have served, because the rest of the country is proud of you.To whine and complain about our military only diminishes the sacrifices made by all.If you think war is unnecessary, think bad to 9-11and tell everyone what sold have been done.

This war was started because congress voted for it to start. Every member in congress received the same intelligence that the president was given. Based on the intell this is why we went to war. Even all your liberals of the past thought we should attack. They just did not have a 9-11 happen on their watch. So the answer is we are doing the right thing and I pray that some day this will come to an end. But until we can eliminate the terrorist we are going to be in constant fear of another attack on the US.

Iraq WAS a threat to the world. They did not follow the mandates put upon them by the UN after Kuwait. As long as the fighting is being done in Iraq the rest of the world is safer...

We cannot leave Iraq until a STABLE government is in place. If we left sooner then there would be a civil war and it would end up with some tyrant dictator like before. Creating a stable government takes TIME, time for the government to learn how to function, time for the PEOPLE to learn that the government is supposed to represent and protect THEM (instead of being against them)...

It may take a couple of generations for the people to adjust.. and perhaps they never will because they have lived with war, fear, tyranny all of their lives.. and for hundreds of years in the geographical area.

The war in Iraq has not reduced the chances of terrorist attacks in the US, it has had the opposite effect. That not me talking, it's the pentagon. It's also an ugly reality that the supporters of this debacle don't want to accept.
BTW, did you read the entire article you posted? Whatever losses American families have suffered the Iraqi family losses have been at least 10 times worse. At least 10 times. You don't even reference them in your question. Now who is heartless?
I don't blame the troops for any of this. I blame the man who sent them into Iraq.

I wonder if you have ever had a shot fired at you in anger or what branch of the service you were in.

I am 67 years old and I was shot down in 1967 and had 2 years of painful surgeries and therapy so I think I have a right to say that wars never solve anything... especially, if the President has to LIE to the gullible American people to get them INTO the war.

This current fiasco was a lie from the beginning... ill conceived and poorly executed and it was all done because of the oil companins and a bunch of born agains who have the President's confidence... and it's those same christian born agains and the oil companies who will help that Anti-Christ Bush, bring down civilization as we know it.

Oh My goodness....you really don' t believe that line of bull you just said did you? We are fighting for those men and women who are there fighting to come home to their families and lives and for the ones who died for what? Not for the safety of this country...It is time to bring our people home...This is so much like Viet Nam and like there, there is no winning this...What's it for now. We have them their freedom from Saddam and their own government in place..Occupied is occupied no matter by whom...Would you want tanks rolling down your home street where your family resides not knowing if a stray bullet may come flying in and get you next. ? This is not a war and they are not protecting my whatever....but we as a nation need to protect theirs and bring them back home to their family and their lives....Viet Nam is not even considered a war ......it' s a conflict and dajuvue.....We lost so many people over there and we are doing it again and there were people then saying the same thing you are saying and it was as false then as it is now!!!!! SUPPORT OUT TROOPS!!!
BRING THEM HOME

Why are you wasting your time getting so strung up and angry at other americans? We are all just people. So you like the war? You think that after reading that article about soldiers dying that you are happy that bush has sent our troops to Iraq to be killed? All because of a stupid reason to get access to oil? You like the fact that this war is going on?
I suuport the life of our people, not the glorifying of their death just for money.

Forget it... Liberals don't value anything more than their own lives. They just don't understand personal sacrifice.

There is nothing more important to a liberal than their life, then comes power and money. Liberals are not the people who throughout history have made personal sacrifices for liberty and justice.
