Thank them for keeping us safe here in America. Let them know they are not forgotten and really are appreciated. Tell them a little about yourself, talk to them like they are a friend .

You should point out that you "know what they 've been through" but then "corrected" a little by adding something like "I know that my words don't help so much when you face trouble... or that they don;t actually mean something at this point for you" and then ad your thoughts and feelings. It is important for a man to think that he doesn't talk to a "system" but to a true person with feelings and thoughts. Time is valuable in war time, don't make them think to much about you either. Lack of concentration can cost their lives. Be "reasonably" and not "emotionally" supportive. Emotion is a bad adviser in fighting. They will get fear and emotions out of their "system" as long as they come back home. Now, they just don't need to be reminded of such a think!

I also urge you not to use any cliche's. Like "keep the spirit high". How do you do that, when you just lost a friend and barely survived? This sounds like a joke. That is why you should focus on reasoning. Your female nature and name will do the rest.

Let them know they aren't forgotten and that they do have supporters back home, despite what the media portrays. Say you understand the thankless nature of their job but you (and perhaps your family) are indebted for their self-sacrifice. Some personal stuff would be nice just to humanize you: specific things in your life that that make you think of our soldiers, sailors and marines out there in harms way. And thank YOU for wanting to write to these fine men and women!

I would thank them for all their great service and for helping to keep us safe in North America and around the world.
I would also mention the great service that they do all of us by leaving their love ones for such a long period of time.

Please make sure to say how proud of them you are even if you don't agree with the war. That was the governments mistake not theirs

Tell them that you support them, that you pray for them, and they're doing a great and important job.
Tell them to ignore the liberal democrats as they are the minority, no matter what the poles say.
Tell them the American people are proud to have such brave warriors and we wish them the very best in their efforts to complete their mission and return home safely.

And...if you're a female of proper age, send a photo of yourself in tight jeans and a halter top, or even a bikini.

Check it out. We real didn't care what you guys wrote. I know I didn't. When we did get letters I always went for the ones wrote by elementary kids cuz the stuff they say is hilarious.

I was tired of hearing the same thing over and over again, we miss you, stay safe, blah blah blah. The things kids wrote were the funniest and most entertaining cuz they are so honest.

My dad's in the military, and even though he isn't over east, he has friends that are. I write to them about school, really anything. It makes them feel more normal. If you're involved in sports or music, talk about that. Oh, and this sounds really boring, but the weather over here is way different, so tell them about it.

Write them, they enjoy getting letters and other things from home. Let them know you are praying for their safety and that they are being thought about everyday. Those men and women are working their butts off over there they deserve a little something from home. They enjoy it, I know from experience.
