If I could do it again, I would choose the Air Force which has more technical and science opportunities. Your scores have to be high enough though.

Good luck.

Peace

I spent four years in the Corps. Got out intending to stay out but that was during Mr. Eisenhowers recession and jobs just weren't there. After three months or so joined the AF as electronics opportunities were a bit better, plus I would have had to purchase new uniforms if I went back to the Corps and I was broke. I retired with 27 years total service. During that time I was stationed all over the world and served with Army units in four different assignments. You couldn't pay me enough to join the Army. The Air Force is a good outfit but I still consider myself a Marine. There are no 'ex', 'former' or 'prior' Marines, there are only those who are on active duty and those of us who are no longer on active duty. I've heard Army types proudly announce that they were Paratroopers, Green Berets, Rangers or whatever and denigrate the rest of the Army. In the Corps there is no such problem. When you're a Marine, you are the best. No other designation or qualifier required. OORAH!

I served in the umsc from 88 to 92 in the infantry. Love it. You have to have the right attitude about it. There will be hard days. but when it was all done i love and miss it. Boot camp will seem to never end. Out in the fleet it dosn't get easier either. USMC demands alot out of you 24/7 but you will have an experiance like no other. You will be giving up who you are today and change into a Marine. If you fight being one and try to stay who you are today then it will be a long hard miserable road. If you join the Marines be ready to change into a Marine. Even to this day 15 years later the Marine blood run in my vains and think much like one.
If you are not willing to fully comit your body and mind then join something else. USMC is a tough mother and demands the best and toughest.

As a Marine parent with friends who's sons are in other branches of the military, I can assure you that there is NO other branch of the military that comes close to the sense of "family" and "brotherhood" that defines Marines and their families.
