How could you say we lost the vietnam war? Yeh we didnt complete any major objectives and get anything done... but neither did they? We lost roughly 50,000 ... but they lost milions? We lost no territory / land... they lost acres upon acres of jungles, crops, etc.... Politically the war was unsuccessful... but we didn't loose it... It was a war that we went in.. kicked their asses n left with nothing to say for it but 4,000,000 kills and our army 50,000 troops smaller...
If i were you i would be proud to say you were a veteran.. USA is usa... we will always be the country to say "hey that's not right .. dont do that, or i'll invade and **** you up for a few years and then leave" if you didnt realize that.. then i dont know what to say... You say you were proud to serve? but yet you still say we lost the war and the wars are worthless... we are defending our freedom... no war is worthless when the enemies are trying to kill united states soldiers...

I can't see why you would be ashamed to say that you are a Veteran. All Veterans should be proud to admit that they served, no matter where it was. As a soldier, you don't pick where you will serve, you only follow orders. If others don't know that, it's their problem. Like the idiots that protested the Vietnam war, blaming the troops. What were those men to do, commit treason & be shot? By feeling shame to have served your country you shame all of the ones who died in all of the wars in which our country has been engaged. Some of those wars were to preserve our freedom, the first one to gain our freedom from Britian! No service person should ever feel shame for having served. It was your duty & you did it well. The thinking people of this country Thank you. Who cares what the idiots think?

I understand your feelings, but I wish I could tell you not to be ashamed. Our current administration lied about the purpose for the war, has closed veterans hospitals, cut pay & benefits for servicepeople, and then call anyone who is against the war unpatriotic. I have a cousin who survived Vietnam, went to Desert Storm & was sprayed with some kind of poison gas (by our side, I was told), went into a coma & almost died after he came back. His kids found him, in a coma on the couch. He'll never be the same. There are a lot of Veterans groups against the war. You might feel better meeting up with some folks in the same situation.

You should be ashamed of your lack of historical knowledge.
The US did not start the Korean war. It was the invasion of south Korea by the Russian and Red Chinese supported North Koreans. The defense of south Korea was a United Nations supported action. In addition to US military personnel Greece, Turkey Britain, Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Ethiopia, Australia, New Zealand, and a host of others sent troops. It was a victory for the UN as south Korea is free and independent.
The US was out of the Vietnam war by 1975. When the North Vietnamese communists broke the Paris Peace aggreement and began a full scale invasion of the South the democrat- controlled congress voted to prevent US air support from bombing the NVA forces. This violated the aggreement we reached with the South Vietnamese. If there is a comparison to be made then it is the democratic concgress once again pulling the carpet out from under our forces and allies.

i don't think you should be ashamed that you are a vet. i think you can be ashamed that our government has gotten involved or started wars under false pretenses. i am not a supporter of the war in iraq right now, but i'm proud of and give honor to every man and woman over there fighting. there is nothing wrong with being opposed to a war as long as you recognize that the soliders fighting there, deserve our respect. when you realize you were doing what you were told, you had no choice...then you can be proud of yourself again. i'm proud of you, and i thank you for your courage.

Don't be ashamed of letting every one know you are a Veteran. You did your job, as many others did as well. You were good enough to sign on the dotted line and commit your self to the service. Be proud of your self. Be a proud Veteran. My youngest son is an Iraqi Veteran, he's proud and I am wicked proud of him. Men and women who join the service are all hero's of this country. Hero's have to be proud of them selves. It's not your fault that we lost the war in Nam. Just like it won't be our military's fault in losing this war too. Just because the country started these wars doesn't mean you aren't our hero's. Be proud of your self, show em all that you did it. And you did it dam good too. I really hope this helps.

I noticeably doubt this statistic. the completed share of veterans contained in the inhabitants isn't very tremendous. in the experience that your source is going by the signs and indications that say, "Veteran - want help," do not forget that panhandlers have an excellent draw close of merchandising and marketing. at the same time as segments of the homeless probable have some variety of psychological ailment, i imagine you'll discover that they have got suffered from the disease for most of their individual lives. i'm no longer positive the position you would possibly want to locate a extra durable statistic - perhaps the VFW or American Legion? to characteristic to the post lower than, there's a fashionable tale about a panhandler in Chicago who replaced into dropped off and accumulated by a limo daily. He lived in a house on the lakefront. at the same time as he died, his sources replaced into worth tens of millions. Panhandling replaced into his occupation.

It may turn out to be a worthless war but it is something that should be addressed. These radical muslims want to kill christians and jews, it is their religion and there way to heaven to kill infidels, and if they had more power we would be dead. Why are you ashamed? I'm not sure but I know the media does not help your plight. I don't have the answer for the problem, I'm still a young pup, but I am working on it.,

You are a veteran. I , and so many others, salute you proudly !!! They don't make men of honor anymore. You are in a distinct class all by yourself. Soldiers prevail where governments fail... that is what happened in Vietnam and what happens in Iraq. You were proud to serve in '69... be ever so proud that you were not one of the cowards who headed north to Canada... you have represented a government that does not always display rational thinking. That certainly is no shortcoming of an American soldier.

The Dems cut and ran back during NAM.... They defunded the war and afterwards many were killed when NK ran into Cambodia after we left........ Fast Forward to today.... Yes you hear the same talk from the Dems.... they want to defund this war too.... It doesn't matter what THEY say they are never for the troops and aren't on our side now..... Be proud of your service! We are the ones who stand up to fight for those that don't have the fortitude to do so themselves! We are the fighters of freedom ... NOT the press.... NOT the politicians..... NOT the demonstrators...... The military member has the right to stand tall for their fight and for securing the freedoms of those that don't like what we stand for yet they want the freedoms we provide.....!!!
Stand tall.... Be proud..... Your a VETERAN!
