Why do people always compare soldiers with prisoners when giving out about the poor conditions in the army ?

My brother in the army does this all the time because I've been in jail but jail/prison is a permanent place where this is not the case with the army. People chose to join the army knowing what to expect but people in jail aren't there by choice.

As many of you may (or may not) know, the US Postal Service released the first Muslim stamps honoring the Islamic Holy Days of Eid right before 9/11.

President Bush sends Ramadan wishes on the White House website: http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/ramada...

This is also the only regular first class stamp endorsed by the President: http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/ramada...

As you can see it is a very nice blue with gold Arabic lettering.

Since this is the stamp that the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces seems to favor, did any of you do your duty and use this stamp to send letters, cards and packages to soldiers fighting in Iraq?

I used it on everything that I sent out this year. "Islam is a religion of peace," so says our President.

God bless America and God bless our President!

I'm sorry if I do not make sense or something -- I do not know much about war and stuff.

Why does Bush want to "win" so badly? What makes winning so important to him, other than having bragging rights or something?

Ok I have seen the videos, read the websites, talked to friends that are Marines and are going to/have been to Marine Corps OCS, but all of them are male. I want to know what it is like for a female at Quantico. If anyone has any insight on that, (ie personal experience, what to prepare for?, how they prepared...etc), I would greatly appreciate it.
BTW: I am in the PLC program (two, 6-week sessions)

It doesn't even matter which side of the war you're on.
A Yellow Ribbon simply signifies that we support out troups in Iraq and elsewhere.
How wonderful would it be for everyone to actually display their support?
The troops would hear about it for sure, and anything that lets them know people are thinking of them will help them cope.
I know because my son is in Iraq right now.
So why so few yellow ribbons? Just curious.

the pakistan pres. clearly said a few months ago at the rumor of a U.S. military presence in the area, "we [pakistan] will take care of it."

yet more and more taliban fighters are streaming to the border. wth? we are bogged down in iraq and the media is not trying to sell the whole afghanistan news story now therefore not many people are aware of this.
