After 180 days of active duty, and you recieve an Honorable Discharge, you are entitled to all benefits....Catch phrase is Honorable

From what I know if you are forced out of military service due to a medical condition, then for sure you will receive disability. If you are in the service now and decline treatment, then your odds aren't so good. If your condition is treatable, and if they are giving you the option of staying in it means that whatever it is will not keep you from serving.

On the other hand, if you have a degenerative or a chronic condition which you obtained while in the military, that typically meets the conditions for a VA disability. Remember to make front and back copies of everything in your medical record. The VA will review your claim and then you'll be authorized a percentage of your base pay, based on the nature of your condition. Its not guaranteed however, so I really would urge you not to rely on that.

If you have served 180 days, you should be entitled to VA benefits if indeed the Discharge is Honorable!!

I hope not... nothing against your situation, but you are hoping for FULL coverage for 7-8 months.... you are one of those "soldiers" putting an additional strain on an already tight economic VA benefits package... and then the soldiers who have earned it - and worked for their entire career will have to be concerned about their future...

As for the facts... and NOT my opinion...

- If you go through a medical discharge program - based on your situation... then it is possible!

Also... if you are given the option to do a treatment... then the military is giving you an option... and you should NOT have any right to the VA!

I assume that you are talking about disability compensation from the VA. If your condition is 'service connected' (caused by your military service) then you will likely be given some sort of disability rating. Now, how much money you are given depends on how disabled the VA determines you to be.

Personally, I would recommend that if you have an injury that you let the military treat it. Better to be healthy than to get a disability pension. (IMO)

Check with you JAG office. I don't think you would be entitled to full benefits if you've only been in 8 months.

Yes, it doesn't matter if you get out in basic training because of a medical problem, you get the full benefits. The length of time spent in active duty doesn't matter.

Are you just out to suck all the money from the government that they will give you?
