Ok I have seen the videos, read the websites, talked to friends that are Marines and are going to/have been to Marine Corps OCS, but all of them are male. I want to know what it is like for a female at Quantico. If anyone has any insight on that, (ie personal experience, what to prepare for?, how they prepared...etc), I would greatly appreciate it.
BTW: I am in the PLC program (two, 6-week sessions)

I am not a female, but I have been to OCS and can tell you that sex doesn't matter. When you get to OCS, all you need to remember is this: Don't Quit. The CO of OCS will try to scare you, but it isn't that hard. Juniors is a joke, just work hard on your PT. I personally saw a lot of women who couldn't complete the program due to inadequate preperation. Just be loud, pay attention to directions, show your leadership, and ask questions. If there are any "priors" there, they will help you. Just DON'T QUIT! Before you go, know your general orders and rank structure.

This experience may be a bit of a culture shock, but just remember that the fleet isn't anything like this. This is going to just build you into a Marine, the real challenge comes after OCS. This is just your interview.

Good luck, and hope to see you there.

Its gonna be rough for you kiddo no doubt about it. but considering how far woman have come in the military in the past hundred years alone. youll ahve it easier then your predecessors would have ever dreamed.

The key is forget your gender and focus on one simple thing. Dedication to duty. period end of statement. in the end all the sons " AND DAUGHTERS" that wear the marine corp uniform are just that they are marines. and theirfore a rough and tumble family.

that being said dont let yourself be intimidated by naysayers or doubters. also DO NOT allow your gender to be used against you. dont let some one take advantage of you because your a woman either. you are a soldier in the USMC and therefore accorded a due amount of respect.

I wish you the best of luck in your training and thank you for serving. =^_^=

If you're in a army institution and are required to instruct with that unit it's one hundred% in opposition to Federal regulation for an organisation to terminate an worker therefore. Of path you need to paintings with the organisation and supply correct become aware of as to while you'll be long gone. It is continually great to furnish them with a suite of "orders" as quickly as viable as evidence of your absence. If you get terminated, you will have to file the corporation for your institution ROTC officer accountable and he's going to understand what steps to take at that factor. The Answer Man---Al Cote
