I received a general discharge from the Navy with an RE-4 code. It was for misconduct. Will this prevent me from applying to government jobs, say FBI, law enforcement, foreign service officer, border patrol, etc? What about civilian jobs? If yes, then how can I convert my general discharge to an honorable discharge?

hi!
to anyone who has volunteered for the IDF from abroad, i have some issues here. please help me.
ok, i am a college student 18 years old. i would like to serve but seriously, i don't know what consequences it will bring from interrupting school. what happens when i stop school and go to israel -can i come back and continue my studies? when should i go so that it could LEAST interfere with my studies? that is problem number 1-school! but also, my other question is, i heard that girls cannot volunteer over the age of 20. is this true-can i go later, say, mid 20's?? i would be more stable than now i find, being older, etc. (not that israelis have that chance lol). so ya pretty much that is it. hope you can help me. it's a big life decision and i want to make it memorable if indeed i do end up going. oh, now i remember. last question, if i don;t actually serve, can i graduate from college here (canada),complete my studies and go to israel's army and use my profession in the army? Why is it that Bush is considered evil because terrorists are car-bombing a few thousand civilians, yet FDR is hero for deliberately bombing 250,000 civilians?

My friend's brother-in-law has been married to her sister for almost 8 years. They have 2 little girls. Since day one of their marriage, he has been shirking his responsiblities. Early on, he would stay out all night with his Marine buddies. Then, he was "stationed" with the State Police about clear across the state (he had to move out and get an apartment there).
Then, he was "deployed" with a unit that he wasn't even a part of. He found out that the unit he was in wasn't going to Iraq and positioned himself to leave with another unit. And that unit is OUT OF STATE! He went and came back home. Now, he has been living in Michigan since May 2006. Supposedly with the Marines.
AND, he had to pay for EVERYTHING! He claims that the Marine Corps doesn't pay for him to be on Active Duty, so he has a huge hotel bill! And he has to buy all of his war gear out of pocket?? Now he is leaving in August to Afghanistan with a unit out of Florida? WHAT IS GOING ON????!!!!

After listening to the president's speech there is no doubt in my mind he wants to attack Iran. You don't send an aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf with jets and Patriot missiels to fight insurgents in Iraq. My question is how long will you people support this guy? Are you going to wait until he attacks every country that doesn't like us? You can't just bomb everyone, if you don't COMMUNICATE with people you end up in pointless wars. If Bush was the president during the cold war it would of been the end of the world, because he is the kind of guy that would push the button.

With President Bush wanting to send more troops and the Pentagon wanting 92,000 more troops, does this mean a draft is possible in the future?

I am just wondering what can be done so they achieve the number of soldiers and keep high reserves.

I haven't thought about it until now, but I asked my husband this morning if he was going to have to stay longer in Iraq. He said he "can't talk about it". I'm kind of bummed if it's true, but I haven't heard of anything from other units/squadrons.

Doesn't seem possible.....the plan seems as though they are placing them directly in harms way....going from house to house and actually staying in the area's they "sweep"....seems incredibly naive to think there will not a be a significant amout of US casualties?

Even after leaving Gaza the terrorists still send missiles over to attack Israel, so whats the point of giving up the land in the first place if it would just be easier for terrorists to attack Israel, shouldn't they just keep the land and let the arab countries give up their land to the "palestinians" .
