No chance of a military coup in the U.S. The Military;s purpose is to defend the Constitution, a coup would be Unconstitutional, to many in the military would disobey if they tried (rent the movie "Seven Days in May").

No, because the president is commander and chief of the armed forces. What is stopping the president from taking over? Congress controls the president's wallet and if you stop the money flow you can stop any military.

A coup, yes. A cu...no...not unless you're a lovebird. Our country has already experience a coup. It's called Christianity, and it's warped the thinking of our country to the point where the world no longer respects us.

In the US I think the overall Command of the forces is in the hands of the President. So hardly likely but possible!
In the UK its still officially the Queen they serve and any attempt would be seen as Treason. I would say virtually impossible!
