The troops have never been forgotten, except maybe by your mother who probably spat on the returning troops from Vietnam. The men and women who serve and die in this war will only be forgotten if WE forget them.
Apologies ma'am.

No it has already turned into another Vietnam in basic ways. Troops will not be forgotten as they were not in Vietnam. Reception returning though, could be turning into what VN vets experienced.
USA military is becoming publicly split as too the best way to resolve the situation, Rice is starting to sound more like McNamara, and Bush has re-incarnated Johnson[must be the water those Texans drink in childhood], and the country is dividing strongly into getting out[majority] and those staying. Listening to some Republican congress people today{from the presidents party] and seems only McCain will strongly continue to endorse the presidents speech of last night. As for the troops reception it will be nothing personal, just peoples way of physically expressing their displeasure with the policy and their being seen as supporting that policy.

At least our troops haven't been forgotten. With vietnam we got rocks and bottles thrown at us when we came home, but I guess that was a different kind of war.

Don't worry, I haven't forgotten that our troops are evil mass murdering scumbags who belong in jail with all the other criminals. (No offense to other criminals or scumbags intended, I know most criminals aren't that evil).
But as far as I know, I'm the only one who remembers. Everyone else is prepared to forgive and forget.

I think that most of the people in America don't see that all we really need to do is just blow Iraq off the face of the earth. Most people say that it is Bush's fault, but if you really look at it, the people have Bush in a bind. If he declares war, then the people balme him, but even if he does declare war, the people still blame him. Some people just don't know what they really want.
