My son has a reading disorder passing the test is difficult and they don't give it on audio. He has been studying but when it comes down to the test he just can't seem to get it. I cant believe the school system let him graduate with such poor reading ablility. I didn't have any idea it was this bad? Anyone have a suggestion?

Regretfully, if he is having trouble with the reading portion of the ASVAB, he will have even more difficulty in the military since it involves a lot of reading, even in basic training.

I'm sorry.

I would first try to see what kind of problems he has, it might be ADD/ADHD.

Secondly if it is reading try this website towards the end where it talks about Adults there is some info.

You can blame him graduating on the "no child left behind" law. I would have him check out "Hooked on Phonics" to help with his reading disorder. also a private tutor may help.

Talk to his recruiter. He can work with him to get a higher score.
