I was watching a cold war documentary where a former Russian era politician said that the American announcement of the deployment of the Neutron Bomb (or Enhanced Radiation Warhead) evened the playing field in Europe between the numerically superior Warsaw Pact armor and NATO. I'd like to know if the enhanced radiation warhead is still in active arsenals anywhere? (Israel maybe????)

Prosecutor`s office in Russian city of Khabarovsk has finished investigating the case of a U.S. serviceman accused of killing a Russian relative of his wife and has handed it over to a court, Regnum news agency reports.

The U.S. Embassy has identified the suspect as Christopher Garner, an active-duty enlisted soldier based at Fort Bragg, N.C. The embassy did not give his rank. He was on leave when the slaying took place.

29-year-old Christopher Garner was charged with strangling his wife’s uncle in September in Khabarovsk and then dumping his body in a nearby village, regional prosecutors said.

Hey any one out there at the language training military base?
I am thinking of joining the military to learn Spanish and to be their translator. But I worry that if I don't pass the class they will send me to any job they want. My worry is I have zero Spanish background and they might make the language class hard (or maybe there will be native speakers there )so that people who signed up for it would fail out and be assigned to other duties.
Let me know.
Thanks!

1. Pearl Harbour - 1941 – The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour came as a result of deliberate provocation from President Roosevelt. FDR had foreknowledge of attack, & worked to ensure it happened, so the USA could enter WW2?

2. Gulf of Tonkin – 1964 – Vietnamese patrol boats blamed for attacking US Destroyers. The incident was really an attack by US Forces so President Johnson had a pretext for the Vietnam War.

3. USS Liberty – 1967 - Liberty was in international water & flying US flag, when attacked by unmarked Israeli planes & ships. Israel planned to sink the Liberty & blame Egypt as a pretext for LBJ to get US into Six Day War

4. Iraq – 2003 –Bush told Blair of a plan to “Fly an aircraft in low over Iraq painted in UN colours” & provoke Saddam to shoot it down. It was dropped as "Intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy." i.e. forged Yellowcake documents, the dodgy dossier etc.

Is each one true or false?

As many responses as possible please (avoiding abuse)

Think of all the health care that could be provided for our own people if we used the money for this instead of an unnecessary war. How many lives would we save in the USA and in Iraq?

Fear among Americans of a military draft are rising as the situation in Iraq worsens. President Bush yesterday admitted for the first time that "the United States is not winning the war in Iraq" and said he is seeking expansion of U.S. armed forces.

But how does one explain such a huge security lapse?? One of the prime accuse muslims was working for the US army. He had taken numerous trips to Afganistan and his higher ups were aware of his connections with radical islamic groups there. This is something i heard in Nat Geo.
Also the fact that CIA had complete knowledge of the plan, but it was rubbished as impossible. How can they be so casual?? One of the most important agencies of the most powerful country in the world. How could they let it pass when 3 of the main accused were under close surveilance for almost a year prior to the tragic event??

Im usually 100% behind the government, and Bush is a pretty good president, not the best, but good (A hell of alot better than Kerry would have been) I supported CONGRESS voting to go into Iraq (Thats right, the President cant declare war, only Congress can).

So another question; why is Bush the one being blamed when it was mostly Congress and the UN that pushed for the war? The UN; which means alot of countries supported the war, along w/ alot of the American Public, remember in 2003?

But after we took out there 86,000 man Army, started a new government, captured there leader, and have killed 28,000-36,000 Iraqi Insurgents; AMERICAS JOB IS DONE. America fought for its own freedom against a world superpower w/ untrained farmers; Im assuming we can let Iraq fight against a few rebels w/ little military training, w/ their new Army we trained for them.

We went in; we kicked @ss, our job is done. Now its time for us to withdrawl.

I think so. It does take greater courage to admit mistake, and it's an honorable thing.

Adding more troops because "whoever died could not die for nothing" is like an idiot who puts all his money to the stock market after he lost half of his fortune.

I thought that President Bush was going to start pulling out our troops in Iraq. We don't need our young guys going over there & dieing like they did in Vietnam. I know that we need to protect our country but I hate to see young men & also young women dieing. Iraq needs to start taking a handle in there own things & let our young men & women return home.

The North Vietnamese Army came to the South and when they were losing sought sanctuary in North Vietnam. Why didn't we just chase them across the border and finish the job. What I've read in the past is that we didn't want to get Russia & China involved. Well, the Vietnamese hate the Chinese and Russia was unlikely to send troops or use nuclear weapons.

why is it that our Soldiers have to be prosecuted for killing these PSYCHO IRAQI PEOPLE.? It is not fair because they can just slice our necks off and we have to go by the stupid geneva convention thing. they don't respect our soldiers so why should our soldiers respect them. even the kids over there have ak-47 guns to kill our soldiers.
