I was wondering about on base housing in the Army. Do you pay for utilities? I know we have to pay for the phone, internet, cable all that stuff, but what about electric, gas, water and so forth. Or does anyone know where I can find a website that has all this info? We will be moving to Fort Lewis, Wa.

Do you think that, should a draft be enlisted, women should have to go to?

Women receive the same privileges men do. They have all the same political, and economic rights. They can run for President, they can vote, they can be CEO's of bulti- billion dollar companies, they receive all the same governmental privileges as men do. If a draft was to be enlisted, do you think women ought to go this time?

If killing civillians in a war is a crime, President Roosevelt and Harry Truman were criminals. War is war. It is not a tea social.
I don't think The United States should have gone to Iraq. But since we have, I think we should blow the everlasting crap out of them. Then do our Christian Duty, take anything of value and get the hell out. Quit spouting off about this democracy crap and tell the truth. We wanted and we came.

They no doubt were trained to do what they did. That is when dealing with the enemy or potential enemy shoot them, and that would include the reporters.

With so much animosity against the draft, will there be protests in the streets and organized resistance to the draft?

Is the draft a good idea?

Selective Service to Test Draft Machinery
By KASIE HUNT, AP

WASHINGTON (Dec. 22) - The Selective Service System is making plans to test its draft machinery in case Congress and President Bush need it, even though the White House says it doesn't want to bring back the draft.

The agency is planning a comprehensive test - not run since 1998 - of its military draft systems, a Selective Service official said. The test itself would not likely occur until 2009.

Scott Campbell, the service's director for operations and chief information officer, cautioned that the "readiness exercise" does not mean the agency is gearing up to resume the draft.

"We're kind of like a fire extinguisher. We sit on a shelf," Campbell told The Associated Press. "Unless the president and Congress get together and say, 'Turn the machine on' ... we're still on the shelf."

Veterans Affairs Secretary Jim Nicholson prompted speculation about the draft Thursday when he told reporters in New York that "society would benefit" if the U.S. were to bring back the draft. Later he issued a statement saying he does not support reinstituting a draft.

The administration has for years forcefully opposed bringing back the draft, and the White House said Thursday that policy has not changed and no proposal to reinstate the draft is being considered.

The "readiness exercise" would test the system that randomly chooses draftees by birth date and its network of appeal boards that decide how to deal with conscientious objectors and others who want to delay reporting for duty, Campbell said.

I love God and I thank God and praise God I live in the USA. But I am finding it very hard to pray for George Bush our president because I am very mad at him. I am not anti-war and I beleive that freedom is free but not cheap, I beleive we are the land of the free because of the home of the brave and I always pray for the soldiers as much as I can that are in this war. Many soldiers have lost thier limbs and had bodily injuries, some have had battle fatigue like in Vietman which is basically having a nervous breakdown due to combat and many soldiers have died so we can be free.

But I feel very sad that our brave men will not be able to be home for the holidays and I know someone feels that Bush is finishing off what his Daddy started. I dont want to be bitter against the president for this war How can I humble myself before God and start to pray for the president and let go of the anger I feel? Thank you for your answers and God bless you.

Let's get real : for or against the war doesn't matter when it comes to the soldiers. Those magnets and people with them are pathetic JOKES. Why do they think that is all they have to do to be helpful to the soldiers?

I am traveling there in February, leaving from KCMO and stopping in Houston TX and Hawaii before arriving at Guam.

I am leaving (KCMO) at 6AM (CT) and arriving in Guam at 6:20PM the n-e-x-t day Guam time, which is 3:20AM back in the states. I will actually be travelling for almost 24 hours. but going thru those time changes are probably going to make it feel like more..

Can you tell me about your trip? How bad was your jet lag?
How long did you stay? How expensive was the food? How safe did you feel?

I would especially like to hear from military men and women, since there is a base over there.

Thank you!!.
