it depends. did you finish basic training? because most of the time if you are not at least already in ait then there's not much you can do. it'll be a medical discharge(should be) and if you are discharged, you can join again in like 4 yrs. there should be someone on post you can talk to about this. they usually send you to someone to finalize everything and if no one else will answer your questions this person should. but like i said, it really does depend on how long you've been in and if you have completed basic training. i got stress fractures when i was in and they med-boarded me because i was still in basic training. they said if i had been in my ait that i could have taken medical leave but since i was still just in basic that i couldn't take leave and they couldn't let me stay because i would not heal if i continued with training. this broke my heart, but it all worked out in the end. good luck.
ps
talk to one of the chaplins or counselors there, they have a lot more info than you'd think about these things

Check with your army legal officer. They should be able to tell you your rights as far as an appeal. Should you still be medically discharged, you will be elligible for free medical at the Veterans Hospital for any service-related illness,ie , your PTSD. take advantage of the help they can give you. Good luck!

Let's see. It took you a week to get PTSD, while you were in the ARMY. Now you want to fight a war against the American people for what, some benefits.

I'm not going to say anything else.

check with IG and check with Congress. Your rank and MOS are obviously going to come in to play here. If you can hack, I don't see a reason why they would force you out, especially given the current situation. I've seen people who can't hack reenlist. But, then, I personally don't think there should be such a thing as a permanent profile, either.

This question really needs to be directed to the legal department. That's why they're there.
