The question is irrelevant. Go to thomas.loc.gov and search for Selective Service Act. The current version calls for men AND women 18-26.. Get ready to sell your bodies to Uncle Sam, ladies ;P

I've got an idea for this whole situation. Why don't we flush this whole idea of a full scale draft down the toilet and have a draft for people who are in professions that will benefit the needs of our military in Iraq. The U.S. Military in Iraq needs more policeman, truck drivers, medical people, and engineers. So why don't we draft people who will fill those spots I just mentioned until we can get our troops the hell out of there for good.

We should draft our women if we're going to draft our men. Even if they aren't on the front lines, women can provide valuable support roles. Most women might not be psyched about serving in the military, but they fought for all of the other same rights as men, and thus should share in the responsibility that all male citizens bare for their country.

There won't be. There are plenty of volunteers that understand the need for real people to be in the military. The military doesn't want the draft either.

It would only be fair--women want equal rights, let them earn it...on the other side of the coin, I was in the military (I am female) and met very few other women I would trust in a foxhole with me...not physically or mentally equipped for "action". Most women in the military are positioned behind the fire lines...very few are put in a position to fight. Yes, there have been females killed in action and injured and taken prisoner, but it was a freak of nature--they still don't put women on the front lines, as far as I know....I could be wrong...I have been out a few years and what little news footage I have seen from Bagdad (and info from female relatives who were in Iraq) it's not happening....

Nope. I think instead of drafting people we should be sending our politicians and their families over to fight.
