American people – Are the following statements about events that led to war, true or false?

Question

1. Pearl Harbour - 1941 – The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour came as a result of deliberate provocation from President Roosevelt. FDR had foreknowledge of attack, & worked to ensure it happened, so the USA could enter WW2?

2. Gulf of Tonkin – 1964 – Vietnamese patrol boats blamed for attacking US Destroyers. The incident was really an attack by US Forces so President Johnson had a pretext for the Vietnam War.

3. USS Liberty – 1967 - Liberty was in international water & flying US flag, when attacked by unmarked Israeli planes & ships. Israel planned to sink the Liberty & blame Egypt as a pretext for LBJ to get US into Six Day War

4. Iraq – 2003 –Bush told Blair of a plan to “Fly an aircraft in low over Iraq painted in UN colours” & provoke Saddam to shoot it down. It was dropped as "Intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy." i.e. forged Yellowcake documents, the dodgy dossier etc.

Is each one true or false?

5 Iran - 2006 – US & UK publicly & repetitively accuse Iranian leader of threatening to “Wipe Israel off the map”, yet Iran have never said this or issued any such threat to Israel. Iran is also seen as an imminent nuclear WMD threat. But the IAEA and scientists insist there is no proof of a weapons program and Iran can’t be a threat for at least 10 years.

For the few still confused - I'm not offering an opinion yet. I want you to tell me what's true or false.

I'll confirm the facts tomorrow.

1: False. FDR got the Japanese declaration after the attack struck.
2: False. Those were Vietnamese patrol tubs
3: False. LBJ could have jumped in anytime before the liberty was struck with support of congress.
4: Could be true. But if it had not been dropped and occurred, then found to be true. Bush would be hung by the neck until dead for treason against the United States as would any Commander in Chief of our armed forces.

No so sure about 1. FDR cut off of all oil shipments to Japan just before Pearl Harbor which any President would have done.
