For either of these country's to up the ante by sending organized troops to engage the US troops would be suicidal. For them to raise the stakes by attacking US units with troops of their homeland would prompt a response from the US that would not allow the US to back down, but would allow for the total destruction of their homeland.

Iran is more democratic then you think.
just like america the majority of the people don't support a unwinable war ( Iraq)
nobody can win iraq except for the sunni or shia
other countries are smart enough to realize this.
if Iran and Syria invaded iraq it wouldn't change a thing.
in the 1972-1991 Lebanese war there were over 40 miltas, and French, Isreali, Syrian, PLO, and american troops involved. and look how long that conflict took to be resolved. they still have problems.
know your history or you'll be forced to repeat it

they are engaging our troops indirectly, with flunkies, but they will not dare to engage our troops openly with their troops, because they know bush will unleash the full military might of the U.S. military, but they will byed their time, and wait to see if the democrats(RATS)/liberals win the 08 elections,if they do,then they will openly attack our troops, knowing the democrats(rats)/liberals,will ask why do you hate us while they force our troops to run, just like Vietnam,Somalia!
