incase there is a draft, I think that we should send all gang members, prisoners first.
Our tax money is spend on them and our men and women that are serving our country get paid but the goverment takes almost ever penny away. Our troops have to pay for everything they get. when I think that they should get everything free, they are putting their life's on the line. Our children are being fool, because the recruiting officer give them a total in how much they will earn, but forget to tell them that they have to buy everything they need. Our goverment is a big joke, and the prisoners are just sitting watching TV and wasting our money.

I'm sure they will have to resort to a draft because they've already started running out of gullible kids to toss into the blender.

Even with the draft, there is no mandatory military service in this country. At some point during the induction, you will be ASKED to step forward to join the armed forces. There is no compulsion to comply with that REQUEST, although they will start yelling at you like there is. Eventually they will give up.

There is a requirement to register for the draft within a month of your 18th birthday and you can go to jail for not registering. Realistically, though, they don't prosecute those who don't register. You won't be eligible for things like federal college grants. They start drafting the 20 year old first, then 21 year olds, until they have as many as they need at the moment. So if you just wait until you're 21, you probably won't even be called up.

The Selective Service organization and mechanism are in place and there are severe penalties for males 18 to 25 who do not register under the provisions of the law.

Depending on ones definition of the word, "draft," it is possible to say that the draft is already in existance, just waiting for an executive order to begin the process of going through the registrants and sending out the "Greetings" letters.

There has already been a court case upholding the law even though it exempts women.

Sandra Day O'Connor, former justice of the Supreme Court, opined that women need to be treated differently because they get pregnant. Men are not given any special break because they ejaculate.

The Iraq conflict is no reason to re-introduce the draft when we have the assets that we do, just sitting and collecting dust. We should be looking at the supply side of this conflict, just like we did during WWII. What a beautiful lesson WWII was for the US and in so many ways, unfortunately every one from the president on down has ignored the lessons of WWII.

The suppliers for the insurgency, and the insurgency itself should be given an ultimatum, and that is: stop sending suicide bombers, money, explosives, and jihadist to Iraq or we will destroy you. If they continue to send these things, then it's time to start using the big stuff, and we can start by taking out the nuclear complex in Iran.

Anybody who thinks there might be a draft to shore up manpower for the war in Iraq needn't worry: He's too feeble-minded to be accepted by the army. Professional armies and conscript armies do different things. The military is now a lot more complicated than it was in the days of conscription. The army basically has no use for draftees, and it would take many years to re-orient the army to a conscript base.

US armed forces in Iraq. 3500 I believe the number was. This can be accomplished by extending the length of service in Iraq. A draft is a last option in my opinion. The military sure as hell don't want to deal with it, and Republicans sure aren't behind this initiative either. The only good that a draft would accomplish would be to get some of the excessive fat off of our youth.

i would only be in favor of instating the draft if women got drafted too. it would be interesting to challenge the draft as is under a 14th amendment violation. anyways, if the draft came back all the neocons who love this war could watch their kids come back in body bags too, that way the people who want this war can help pay for it, which would be a nice change

Finally -everyone else knew that the war didn't and has not worked for a long time-But he has no right to draft considering he dodged the Vietnam war draft-he was probably to busy in the "ranch" snorting cocaine and getting drunk..
