During the Cold war, it was commonly accepted that MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) would prohibit 2 sides from using nuclear weapons becuase it would bring forth a devestating retaliation. When there is a balance of power in nuclear technology, people think twice about using it. If every nation on the planet had nuclear weapons, we would have everlasting peace.

Because everyone knows if you use it, you are toast as well. Thus, just like US and Soviet Union, either side would not be able to make the first move.

Do we accept that there is no end to violence? is the US Administration's agenda of spreading 'peace and democracy' to 'turbulent' regions of the Middle East a futile endeavour?

My daughter and I have adopted a soldier in Afganestan and a Marine in Iraq. My daughters goal is to send every millitary person from our home town a care package. The local paper heard about what she was doing and took her picture and ran her storry on the front page of the paper. Now the local news station is running a storry on her. I asked the wal mart manager if they would allow a donation box and a list of items needed for the millitary overseas. Then people could come in an buy and item and put it in the box. Or if there could be a container for people to donate loose change for postage. I was told no. So I said well for the hurican katrina victimes you had donation boxs out for money and items. And he said well those people were homeless and the soldiers have a place to stay while at war. So I asked for a small donation to pick up some items in the store to send overseas to the hospials and soldiers. He told me no and that wal mart had no money to help with a donation. read on

Condi Says...

Rice says that they are Working on a PLAN for securing Baghdad, does that mean they haven't known what has been going on there for the past 3 1/2 years....now they realize they need a Plan.

When asked if they had a backup plan, a Plan B, Rice said no, they had "A Plan" and they were going to work very hard to make it work.

They had "A Plan" when they invaded Iraq, the Invasion and nothing else, they had no "Plan B" other than to "Stay the Course"

Even Jim Baker, who Bush has dispatched several times to raise money and Support for his War, has now said that the Mistakes Bush made at the begining of his War have made it practicly impossible for the U.S. to stabalize Iraq.....another Republican, this time a Big One, leaves the flock.

The British Ambassadore to Iraq has said that it is now impossible to stop Iraq from slipping into Civil War and now we must all watch Bush go down in shame. Get ready to eat Crow!!!
