Do we accept that there is no end to violence? is the US Administration's agenda of spreading 'peace and democracy' to 'turbulent' regions of the Middle East a futile endeavour?

Peace is not a normal state of affairs for things here. If you take just a quick glance at world history you will see that there has never been peace since we started walking upright. Someone/group wants something something else someone has. Better farming, better economic situtation, control of an area or people, money what ever. Population growth has a small bit to do with wars, it both bleeds (pun intended) off the most hale and hardy breeding group (young men) and reduces the need for artificial population control. The numbers of people killed world wide in the name of religion is staggering, and they most all preach somewhere 'love thy neighbor, not your neighbor's spouse' If you look at the Crusades, you would be astonished at the damage that was done to the middle east by the European countries, and as the good ole USA is a melting pot and largest target to focus on we are catching the grief of that time. I like Andy Capp of cartoon fame, who told the judge when asked "fighting again Andy?" replied "I knew he was gonna hit me so I hit him back first". One thing to take a close look at is the oath military swear when joining up, or the federal civil servants as well. It is to a document, not a person. "To uphold the Constitution"
Bottom line war is here with us to stay and always good for the munitions and weapons makers.

Yes, War is inevitable. Even if one country takes over the whole world there would be resistance movements. There is just no possible way to stop humans from fighting.

yes, humans are territorial and tribal by nature. you have to understand that violence is part of human nature. in the middle east you have at least 3 different "tribes" fighting over the same territory and they have been fighting for over 2000 years!

As long as their are extremists muslims in the world, there will be no peace. The desire to want/take more is in human nature. Only one person ever said "it is more blessed to give than to receive". And they killed that guy.
