My boyfriend is graduating from boot camp on September 1st. Since the following Monday is Labor Day, I was wondering if A-school would go ahead and start on Monday or wait until Tuesday.

Labor Day is indeed a holiday, but it will depend on whether ro not he is required to report to A school immediately or not. It also depends on WHERE his A school is. If he is Grad N Go he will immediately get on a plane to his A school, and will report in that day, even if it is Labor day.

If it's across the tracks, he may be allowed the entire 3 day weekend off, but will still most likely end up with at least one duty day where he could not leave the base.

OR he could end up with Hometown recruiting, which is time between PIR and A school where he can go home, leave will NOT be charged against him, but he will have to work in the recruiter's office for that time period. Typically, this is two weeks, depends on when his A school Classes up.

Chances are he will ahve a week to report to A-school.....so you need not worry about it.....he gets free time off, meaning that it does not go against his leave time....but the military workd 365 days a year....24/7....366 leap year

No, not for an A school. He will have the day off for the Holiday.
