Being active duty, and seeing Iraq really not going well at all, and North Korea and Iran now starting to kick up dust. Are we spreading our military too far from home? It just seems like a crazy time in history for us and the world.

Something that splits the difference between the 5.56x45 and the 7.62x51, a mid range cartridge like the 6.8x43 would be useful not only against armored forces, but against unarmored threats aswell.

My electronics teacher back in high school was a short obese woman and shockingly was in the marines only 2 years before teaching. How the hell did she survive basic training? She must have been hit alot with soap like gomer pyles in full metal jacket?

Usually most evaluate Robert E. Lee and U.S. Grant; but what about others, such as JEB Stuart, Phil Sheridan, Stonewall Jackson, etc.
Please, serious answers!

I am not a politician or militant and i know bombing a country will not stop terrorists. US invaded Afghanistan and the Taliban is still going strong. They went to Iraq and there were no weapons of mass distruction. What we see on the news is not what is really going on. Why can't you see there is an other agenda?

I personally support both, it's just that I've seen these phrases several times on this site. If you do not support the war, then you must not approve of the USA being over there. If you do not believe we are justified in being over there then any killing that takes place is not justifiable, but in fact murder. You are then basically calling the troops murders that you support. I realize that the you may think troops have to go where they are sent, but they don't, they can be a conscientious objectors, or go to prison, which most would gladly do if they truly thought they were being asked to commit murder. Please someone explain to me the "support our troops, but not the war" statement. BOY!!! I have to stay off this category, it sure gets me riled...grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Just in case either Cuba or Venezuala is looking for a fight, should we not start training our soldiers in a Latin-American country like Panama ? That way we would get a head start.

It will also make the druglords in Colombia take note, should we ever need to go in and sort them out.

The Shiite's are the cheering section for Hezbollah, along with that damn renegade Sadr. The Sunni's are in bed with the insurgentswho are hell bent on killing more Americans, and both sides have the US troops running around putting out fires (busy work). The USA will never win in Iraq.
