The Stars and Bars were the national Flag The St Andrews Cross was the Battle Flag

that is not true, most people think that the souths flag was the now confederate flag, red with a blue 'x' in the middle. however the real flag was stars and bars. the south used several different flags. Virginia was the first to use the red flag with the blue "x" and they did it because the stars and bars looked too much like the north flag and it caused confusion. but in all actuallity the south flag was in fact stars and bars.
