Well, assuming that what you want specifically is assignment, as a rifleman, to the 75th Ranger Regiment, here's what you do:
Go to your local recruiter, tell 'em what you want. Try to get airborne school and ranger school written into your contract. There aren't guarantees, in the sense that you'll still have to qualify for those schools. Your best bet is to sign up as an 11B, infantryman. Be in the best shape of your life before you go, and you'll have a good shot at going all the way.
You'll do 14 weeks of infantry one station unit training, meaning that you'll do your basic combat training and infantry advanced individual training all with the same platoon, at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Afterwards, if you've qualified (you have to meet some fairly high physical standards, which honestly you should easily be able to meet after the 14 weeks of OSUT), you'll attend 3 weeks of Airborne school. Airborne qualification is a prerequisite for Ranger School.
If all goes smoothly, you may get to go directly to Ranger after Airborne (this is all still at Fort Benning). Often, soldiers need to do a Pre-Ranger build-up and assessment course (they have the course there at Benning, too). This is just to ensure you're up to the task - they'd rather find out in the one or two week Pre-Ranger (I forget exactly how long) than waste a class slot on you at the real deal.
Ranger School is 8 weeks, in 3 phases. First ("crawl") phase is at Benning, and you'll start learning small-unit tactics (raids, ambushes), advanced combat training, as well as toughening you up. Expect long rucksack marches, runs in full combat gear, not enough to eat, certainly not enough sleep. Second ("walk") phase is nearby in Georgia, and it's mountaineering, with a continuation of the other skills. Third ("run") phase is in Florida, with some water and jungle/swamp survival training, and a build-up to a multi-day FTX (field training exercise). If you pass all your tests as you go along, you'll graduate, be a fully-qualified Airborne Ranger Infantry soldier, and if you're good enough, accepted to perform duty with the 75th. There are other units, but the 75th is THE Ranger unit.

What type of ranger? There are two that I know of. Are you talking about a Forest Ranger or Military?

The US Army ranger school takes about two months to complete and consists of three different training phases: the Benning phase, the mountain phase, and the Florida phase. Please visit the below link for complete information about ranger school, including information about these three phases.

I hope this information proves helpful.
