My sister recently ran into the back of someone's truck. Usually it would definitely be her fault, but it seems kind of different so I just wanted to see if we have a case. The road that she took was covered in fog and smoke that morning (there was a forest fire the previous day). The man she ran into was parked in the road on the highway talking to someone else on the side of the road (I guess he figured no one would be driving). After my sister hit him, some people who saw it say that they told the man to move his car out of the road because they heard a car coming. Anyways, they're saying it's my sister's fault and it has that she was "following too close". But if the people who saw the accident says that the man was parked in the road, does she have any kind of defense? Thanks

Say you get pulled over for a traffic violation. You call the cop an a**hole for giving you a ticket. Can they arrest you or ticket you?

My friend was working at subway and she started to get mad so i got mad. i freaked out and started yelling and shoved a plastic tray off the counter and on my way out i hit the plastic sub. I left and came back to talk to the cops, but they said they cant do anything about what happened in subway, its up to the owner if he wants to press charges. That friend texted me and said the owner is pressing charges. I dont know whats going to happen, thats why im asking. if the cops are going to come after me and arrest me or if ill get something in the mail.

Tenn has sent police to neighboring states to watch for tenn citizens to purchase cigarettes from out of state and bringing them back home.

http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2007/sep/27/cigarette-surveillance-program-begins-today/

When stopped at the border inside Tenn, would this not violate the driver's 4th amendment rights againt search and siezure? I would think that if you put the cigarettes in the trunk and refused consent to let the officer search the car, they [police]would need a warrant to search. Would the statement that another officer saw you walking out of a store in another state be sufficient to get a warrant?

1) When was remaining silent ever a right?

2) They never seem to notice that yelling 'FBI' or police 10 KM away from the criminal only causes him to run away.

3) No matter what the criminal does, all they do is put him in jail with T1 internet and good food.

4) When 10 police cars are chasing a criminal, they keep chasing him instead of trapping him.

5) How come they never thought of bulletproof cars?

6) Have you ever noticed how almost all FBI are African-American or white with a Southern accent?

7) Why do they always have to prove that they're FBI by showing us their ID card? haha imagine:

FBI: This is FBI
Man: No I don't believe you, prove it.

8)They never remember to put footcuffs until the criminal starts kicking.

9) The police never wear anything but blue.

10) All these donuts never seem to have an effect on their weight...damn, the only fat police I know is Police cheif Wiggum :P

Hope You enjoy and please tell me what you think!

CNN ran a story about an Internet Hoax that led to a deadly shooting. A jury is now deliberating in the case of a 53 year old man who shot his son's friend. Not long ago, a Missouri girl committed suicide when an adult posed as a teen and badgered her to death. This is getting out of hand, and the Internet is turning into a Stalker's Playground. Hoaxes, jokes, intimidation, threats, bullying, bashing, lieing.....that can cause harm to innocent victims. How can this be stopped ?

Lately, I have been reading a good number of articles regarding very poor police work around Will County. First, there was Drew Peterson whom had two wives die under very suspicious circumstances. As I have been watching this story unfold, it seems that some Peterson's friends on the police force weren't exactly interested in thoroughly evaluating the death of his third wife. Then, there is another case in which a person won a 15.5 million dollar judgement against the Will County sheriffs dept for being falsely accused of the crime (Chicago Tribune lead story). To me, this indicates a pretty serious problem involving a fairly large segment of the police down in the Will County area. Am curious about the various opinions I will get regarding the police in this case.

The house behind my bedroom window is being demolished. The noise is so loud not only am I unable to sleep, I can't spend any time in my room at all. It goes from 7am-6pm every day.

I have spoken to the city code person and called the police. The police told me to write a letter and get a petition. The city code guy told me that wouldn't do anything.

I've tried ear plugs, putting foam over my windows, blankets over my head, nothing works and now I'm sleeping in the living room, where I can still hear them.

Is there any legal way to get them to change the times they work to 11am?
If there's no legal way, could you give me ways to stem the sound?

My neighbor and I had our property damaged and he called the police. I had heard something and had told my neighbor, the police came to my house and asked me questions I thought they had no business asking(my birthdate, my drivers licence number) what exactly do we need to tell police when they are are investagating? They always seem to want to know more than they need to and even want you to invite you into your home and/or car. No wonder nobody wants to call the police even when you are the victim.

first off, its not me, its for my boyfriend. He got caught for stealing a car in the year of '98. 10 years later, e is a better person, and he actually wants to take the test for him to be a police officer. the only thing holding him back is this thing on his record. So what my question is, do u know how to get something off your record, does he have to do anything? is there something we can do?

i got a speeding ticket for going 82 in a 65 zone, since i was late for work i didnt bother telling the cop my situation, he seemed like a prick anyways so i didnt want to escalate the situation any and worsen my ticket.

anyways, there was a very large dump truck and he was going about 75, and throwing large rocks ALL over my car, so i gunned it to pass him, and then the cop caught me as i was passing him.

any chance a judge would reduce the ticket?

this goes hand in hand with my last question about parent rights to get involved. my boyfriend and i got into another physical fight that left my eye bruised and face swollen, the police were called by my parents and i stayed quiet about the questions they were asking me. 2 of the police officers talked to my parents and then got in their cars and took off real fast, are they going to go arrest my boyfriend even if i didn't give them the information they wanted? one officer stayed behind to talk to me and told me to get help, that that is what i needed, not to be tight mouthed about it. but i want to work it out with him and not have him in trouble. please get back to me as fast as possible so i can help my boyfriend before they arrest him if that is what they are going to do. you can IM me if your off duty also. i really need to help him not get in trouble.

call police and have my boyfriend arrested even though i don't want it? i want to work it out but not sure i can and my parents called the police when they seen my eye and they know how it happened without me telling them anything. the police came and i stayed silent for the most part because i don't want him to go to jail or anything bad to happen to him. and then they talked to my mom and dad, two of them got in their cars and left in a big hurry, are they going to arrest jason (my boyfriend)? what if i don't want to press charges myself? to see if he and i can work it out and stop what is happening. IM me or email me if you wish. thanks

I know someone who has failed to pay a ticket from the police (minor traffic violation). It's been several months to a year. What do they need to do if they don't know where their ticket is and need to pay this? What consequences might they face for failing to pay on time? We live in NC.
