If you have diabetes, it will affect the breathalyzer reading.
.25 is more that 3 times the legal level. The reading is usually accurate within .01+-. Why were you asked to take the test?.

Diabetes is a real possibility, but I find it hard to believe you would blow a 0.25 with that alone. That is legally comatose in most states.

There is a fair chance that the equipment has not been calibrated for a while, or mis-calibrated.

Something in your blood stream caused the jump. There is no way that 25% of your blood was alchohol and you didn't drink. In this case the machine might not have been calibrated correctly or you are lying. The best thing to do is get a lawyer. Either that or face facts that you are an alcoholic. Sorry, I don't see any gray in this one, it is a black or white thing. The machine is broke or you are.

breathalyzers don't test alcohol in breath - the test STUFF in the breath OTHER THAN what the breathalyzer expects to see.

That's why breathalyzer tests require at least a 20 minute waiting period before being administered - to clear out the mouth and throat of debris.

Then you need to call a lawyer and get a blood test done immediately.

did you zero the tester out first? maybe the vapors of the guy before was still around when you were tested...
or you were just using a broke breathalyzer.
i used to get tested almost everyday (court order)

I definitely going to say that it's unaccurate, which wouldn't surprise me one bit. My boyfriend got his first DUI because he Barely blew over the limit and he had only 2 beers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was pissed!!! but sh*t happens right.

If you used any mouthwash before getting pulled over, that would trip the breathalizer.

Go see a doctor... you may be diabetic and not even realize it if you are blowing off alcohol.

if you drank the night before then thats what happened..
your BAC rises more and more for the next couple of hours after you drink.
This is why some people wake up the next day and they are still drunk!!!
ha!
