The police called my home and said they may have video of me shoplifting. They then set a date and time when they would like to see me. Do I have to go? If I do go, can I wait til I have retained an lawyer?

How to fight NYC traffic deparment recent barrage of unannounced tickets against couble parkers still behind the wheel. 115 dollars a pop fines are unfair agfainst all motorists for doulbe parking and motorists behind the wheel. The Long standing public policy of officers asking motorists to just move their cars replaced statute on books for umteen years. The fines seem illegal because of long stanging public parking.

A few months ago, I saw a fight happen. On my own free will, I went in and did a police report. However, I had a few beers in my truck and the cop asked about that. I told him the truth, and he kept asking who bought the beer. Eventually, he asked if it was one of the men involved in the fight. I said it was, not really thinking. I was ready to go and it seemed like he was forcing me into saying it. I've been thinking about it, and I don't want this guy to get in trouble for something he didn't do. I remember the guy who really did do it, but I don't know his real name. Is there any way I can make my police report void or change it in any way so this guy won't get in trouble for what he didn't do?

I posted a legitimate question about corrupt police officers and I got a violation notice. All I asked was if anyone had seen the story and a video about a St. Louis area police officer who was caught on tape screaming and threatening to create false charges on a young man who was sitting in a commuter lot.

I added a link so people could view the tyrade and I guess some cops reported me to the Yahoo Police. My question was deleted. Is that fair?

Lennie and George are good friends and work at the same place. One day Lennie beats his boss to death with a hammer and is arrested. The Police read Lennie his Miranda Rights and Lennie invokes his right to an attorney. The Police immediately stopped asking Lennie questions. Later that day George arrives at the Police Department and asks to speak to Lennie. The Police tell George they will allow it if an Officer can stay in the room and record their conversation. George agrees and gets to talk to Lennie. During their conversation Lennie tells George about how he killed Curley (their boss). Lennie had not seen a lawyer at the time of his conversation with George and George is not an attorney.

At the trial the Police try to enter the recording into evidence but the defense objects. Was Lennie's 5th Amendment (Miranda Rights) violated? Why?

Any members here are working in Legal Firm who can provide me an answer for my curiosity?

As we can see now, most of the Residential (Taman-taman) in Klang Valley are guarded by securities. Residents have to pay monthly security fees. However, are this fees compulsory? If we do not wish to subscribe, do they (the securities) has the right to block us from going back to our own house?

In my work place, when the fire alarm goes off, all the security doors leading back into the building are automatically locked. Meaning even when you have a valid key, the door no long open. But would that create a problem? Let's say that I am in the lobby, a car crashed through the front door, on fire, and prevent me from exiting. Now, if I can't open the door to escape through the back door, I would be trapped.

I am looking for any fire code information to prove one-way or the other. Let me know if anyone has more info. Thanks

I have just graduated high school and am applying to join the police. They want to know details of my employment history and contact details of my past employers. I have only had one paid job, in retail, which I resigned last week. The trouble is, I resigned without notice because my boss was a complete a**hole and make me work 8 hours continuously without a break (which he denies). I know he is going to give me an absolutely horrible reference when the police recuiting staff ring him.

All other aspects of my appication are great: academic history, academic ability, physical testing, no criminal record, etc.

My question is, will this horrible reference fom my only employer seriously jeopardize an otherwise good application?

TIA.

i recently asked a question why do we pay taxes to the police when they are supposed to protect and serve the citizens.they seem to be more concern about writing tickets, and i said they are not doing there jobs, but in realality they are it is not there fault.it is the mayor,or who ever is in charge of them, because they are given a qouta to write so many tickets. i know this because i have some police officer friends who told us this, me and my dad.im not writing this because i recently got a ticket,i have not had one in a long time.the reason is because i care about there being so much crime, and nothing is being done.i feel like the police officers need more freedom to patrol more in the neighborhoods,or the streets so that criminals will not easily commit crimes.knowing that police are more patroling, and they may not do any thing, just there presence more known would help.robbery seems to be the highest crime, people losing there lives because of this is just not right.

The other day I drove a group of 4 kids home from school, but they got in a small confrontation with some guys and a little pushing and shoving went on and some verbal stuff, but no injuries to anyone. The guy in the other vehicle told me to get them out of the area so i brought them to their friends house and on the way there, two cops pull us over and charged the one kid and the other guy battery charges, but told me i had no charges because i stayed in the vehicle, and he just asked me who shoved first and took down my name, address, and phone number. The kid is getting a court date for his charge, but the cop didn't say anything to me. You think i will get brought into this case or did the cop get everything he needed from me, because i didn't see most of the fight. I don't want to court with the kids because they are the type if you say something they don't like, they will come after you. Only reason i took them home, was for gas money for the week, i don't know these kids at all.

I am not a policeman so I was wondering. I recall a cop show from the 1970s or 80s where the officer explained that the term ***** was used to avoid confusion with black (for example black hair, black car, black pants, etc.). No, I do not say "*****."
