Are they looking for certain levels? What if a person only took one hit off a joint like 3 months ago?

a hit 3 months ago is nothing.... only daily pot smokers should worry about a hair test

When you use drugs, they are incorporated into the structure of your hair. If you used three months ago, then the hair that grew then would test positive for marijuana. If your hair is cut below the part that grew back, then the test would come back negative. The test must reach a certain cut-off point before it is deemed positive for a drug. And if you are thinking about just buzzing your hair to avoid the test, know that some places require an inch and a half of hair and will take it from anywhere on the body that they can get hair that long.

Last hair test I took, the person collecting the samples said 6 months is average for detection. If they are giving a drug test, they are looking for ANY usage.

I heard it can be up to 6 months, possible longer. The hair test is far more accurate, a single joint might be enough to test positive. I don't know what they're looking for...

My girlfriend is a drug councilor and I have to believe her cause she hasn't lied to me yet and she says that pot is in the fat cells of your body for 30 or more days where as cocaine is there only 3 days. I think you're safe at three months. Everything I've ever read on the subject has made it clear that three months would be the longest and it will never show up in a test.

One hit off a joint will not show up after three months. You are fine, if you really only took one hit :) Who takes one hit?:)

the test looks only for the presence of THC, not how much or how little. And the hair will show this for up to a year.

It can detect THC in your hair for months.
