If someone has an outstanding warrant under a maiden name, even though that name hasn't been used in a few years (soc# changed to married name). Can the BMV have you arrested when you go into renew your license? Will they even know? The license is under the married name too.

in some states DMV offices conduct a "warrant check" When issuing or renewing a license. Why not deal with the warrant?
Your best bet is to hire legal counsel depending on the offense you may only spend a few hours being detained before you make bail or are released with a future court date
take care of it now or you may find yourself spending a long weekend in jail.
Cheers

Yes. If they check. Get a lawyer, take care of the warrant on your initiative. You can't run scared forever and expect to get anything accomplished in you life. There's never a good time for this, but at your choosing is better than going to jail unexpectedly and then having to deal with it.

Is it just a bench warrant? Doesn't matter if you're going to renew a license though, they will notify the Sheriffs dept most likely

yes!!!

if you have a warrant you need to address it.

it wont go away until you do what is needed.

failure to take care of the warrant means you will be arrested when you least expect it.

an arrest can have serious unwanted consequences. for example, you could sit in jail for a week or a month, in that time you could lose your job and home.

you need to buck up.

if you need help call the salvation army or red cross and ask for referral to an agency specializing in assisting citizens with warrants.

if you live in southern california, there are several agencies to help, if you need help, email me and I will get some names for you.

try, naacp, maldf, aclu, amldf. the catholic church also has good resources.

don't go to jail. take care of it.

ps: you could get beat up, or, worse in jail.

also there are lots of mentally ill and people with aids in the slammer.

nb:
as mentioned above, city, state and federal records are now online real time. if you travel, you will likely be arrested at the air port. many law breakers are now arrested by homelans securiyt when they are about to travel, but before they get on the plane. so they wind up in jail.

Yes you can. My husband has arrested a few people at the DMV. Wait till your warrant is paid off or turn yourself in. Or go ahead and go up there. My husband always lets people finish before arresting them. Although, most cops are not that nice or considerate.

Completely irrelevant, but I hate when people sit there and go "Well you need to take care of your warrant... blah blah..." Sometimes it's not ******* possible when you have an expired license and you're trying to get your **** paid for but you have bills to pay and a **** job. That leaves you stuck in a ******* hole. Everyone needs to quit judging! Because I've been in that predicament before where I couldn't even cash my own payroll check because my **** was expired. I had to go to a pawn shop where they took 8% of my check. So **** you guys and your shitty ******* "Go pay for it" opinions. Because sometimes you just don't ******* understand what people are going through!

you can be arrested anytime anywhere if you have a warrant out for you but more than likely they will not figure it out if you're going by a different name now. the longer you run from your warrant, the worse the punisment will probably be. just turn yourself in...it sucks, just do better next time.

all names you have had are alias and the department should show you as married with other names--(maiden, married,re married, name changed etc.)

pay the outstanding warrant and get your lic renewed without looking over your shoulder all day or laying awake at night thinking the medical ambulance is a police car comming too get you.
