A semi-retired buddy of mine works Campus Police at a college. One of his duties is to patrol the library. I laughed when he told me that, asking what high crimes and misdemeanors go on in a library. He told me that other than book thieves and vandals (a lot of those), there was the guy viewing porn movies on the library computer and masturbating; there was the other guy getting a little head from his girl friend in the "old reference book section"; and the dope deals in the bathroom.
Crime is where you find it. . .

Being a security/ law enforcement officer of any kind is quite often boring. An excellent job description is weeks of boredom punctuated by seconds of sheer terror.
