I posted a legitimate question about corrupt police officers and I got a violation notice. All I asked was if anyone had seen the story and a video about a St. Louis area police officer who was caught on tape screaming and threatening to create false charges on a young man who was sitting in a commuter lot.

I added a link so people could view the tyrade and I guess some cops reported me to the Yahoo Police. My question was deleted. Is that fair?

You can be reported for violating terms of service, or community guide lines. Most people commit a violation by only adding a question mark to a statement. TOS, and guidelines are quite specific.

Your question may have been reported as a "rant" which violates the Community Guidelines. I don't click on links in questions and answers due to viruses. I have been reported a number of times. Won some appeals and lost some. One of my "pet peeves" on YA is asking opinions. This is "questions and answers" and is supposed to help people asking questions. Not state opinions. It is a waste of space and invites trolls looking for trouble.

The only people who can do anything are Yahoo Answers, and - demonstrably, because so many have tried - they won't do anything about it. Basically, they don't want to spend the money on real people who could evaluate reports for malice, much cheaper if it's all done electronically. I agree with you, it's the worst aspect of YA, and lowers the quality of the thing.

Cops are always trying to hide their crimes against people. They really believe if we point out when they break the law that your being anti-cop...that's why they cover-up for each other. If you have any cops in your family as I do you'll know this first hand...they really believe they are above the law..well 99% do

No it is not fair. It has happened to me too several times. Anyone can request it be pulled and yahoo just pulls it, they don't question it at all. I have even tried to justify question but nothing ever happens.

You are correct, anyone reading any question can claim a violation. The same goes with answers. Anyone who does not like an answer can claim a violation.

Yes. I think alot of people get reported for dumb stuff. One good thing now though is they will also investigate the reporter, not just the reportee. To many trolls!

Has nothing to do with Liberal or conservative. I am none and peopel always call me one or the other, funny. Police are criminals and what happens when you look at a criminal committing a crime...they get defensive and try to attack you. Same with cops because they are criminals.

Yes and they do this more and more the higher your points get. Both sides Liberal and Conservative do it equally, do not let them fool you.
