Was out with my boyfriend. My night to drink and he was driving. There was a man at the bar wasted treating his very very pregnate wife/girlfriend porly. He actually punched her in the stomach. I told my boyfriend to go tell him that we would give her a ride home (even though we did not know either of them) he crossed the street to tell him and the man puched him in the face. 1 punch but it knocked my bf out and he fell back and hit his head on the cement, I ran out to him whre he laid not moving for at least 5 min. he fianlly came to and the medics and police were already there since we were at kind of an outdoor festival. My bf was brought to the er in an ambulance, I asked if I could go with in the ambulance or get a rie in the police car and they said no? they called me a cab and said it would be there in 2hrs. went out to my car punched the hospital into my gps and they told me to get out of the car and arested me for dui.wasn't driving yet I was still trying to decide what2do

More than 7 years ago I was convicted of driving while impaired. More than 10 years was the assault charge (not domestic). Since then I have earned a degree in Law Enforcement and joined the Marine Corps reserve. Also, served proudly in Operation Iraqi Freedom just recently. All in order to show how serious I am about my future in either Law Enforcement or Corrections. Please help me by giving your advice.

So to start off this wasn't me, and it happened in the state of California. Anyhow, onto the story:

My friend's brother was driving his van and they had one passenger. They were pulled over for a broken taillight, the van wreaked of marijuana from what the police officers said although there was no marijuana in the van. They were all arrested, the older brother was assaulted by 3 police officers and the brother was hit with a DUI as well as a DWI. The van is now impounded and the older brother (the driver) had to spend the night in jail. Is this legal? Would they be able to get their van back without paying impound fees if they took the case to court? The whole situation sounds ridiculous to me.

For instance, if you've robbed a bank, ten years down the road, you still can be arrested for that crime. But if you stole two tic tacs from a store, will you be arrested 10 years down the road?

they cant go all the way back to the station can they? or do they just use a local bathroom? or go in a cup? haha jk. also, do Police officers wear seatbelts? because it seems like when they are in a car chase and the suspect bails and runs, they are INSTANTLY out of there car and chasing him/her. Do they Really take the time to unbuckle THEN chase them?

I am new at this, so not quite sure how it goes. I guess i will just break out in song and let you know my question...My husband is a local police officer for the town that we live in. He arrested two males hauling a semi truckload of pot about a year ago. The case was dropped due to someone allegedly not fingerprinting the evidence. We went outside on friday and there was a subpoena on our windshield, no envelope, that i suppose had been sent or faxed to the p.d. and the asst. cheif left it on our windsheild. The trial i am guessing is for the "main man" that these men were delivering to, my husband never had any contact with him. So the trial is in federal court. We live in Arkansas, it is in New Mexico, over 1400 miles round trip. Is this legal?? Can they give him 9 days notice (yes NINE DAYS! ? Can they make him show up to that state?? Also, he has to worry about getting out of it the right way, due to his job. I need to know the stipulations...he does not want to go!

Mr. Rogers hates his neighbor. The neighbor has a garage band and they practice late at night. Mr. Rogers has complained to the neighbor that he can't sleep but the neighbor keeps playing at all hours of the night. Mr. Rogers works the morning shift at a grocery store where he has worked his entire life and hates going to work tired. One day Mr. Rogers decides to break into the garage where the band stores their instruments. He plans to steal the instruments and throw them in the dump. While Mr. Rogers is in the garage he finds a marijuana growing operation in a room off of the garage. Mr. Rogers leaves the garage and goes to the Police. He tells the Police that he broke into the garage and was looking for the instruments when he found the marijuana plants. The Police use this statement from Mr. Rogers in a search warrant for the neighbor's house. Can this statement be used as probable cause in a search warrant? Why?

Can you get away with telling a policeman you think he is hot by saying, "I think you are hot!" A friend of mine said that you have to word it like that or you could get in trouble. But she said if you worded it as, "you're hot" (stating it as a fact rather than an opinion) you could get in trouble. Is she right? What else not to say to a hot officer? I know you are not able to ask for sex. Can you ask for his number?

My sister's boyfriend and his friend made 4 pipe bombs and blew them all up. They didn't think they'd get caught but the shock waves shattered the windows of houses within a 2 block radius. The cops tracked the hardware store purchases and arrested my sister's boyfriend last night. I just found out today when the cops called my sister to question her about him. The cops searched his house and also found weed in his room. He is in juvi right now and she is going down to see him.

my main question is... If he is found innocent of terrorist activities [since thats what pipe bombs are used for] what is the longest he can be held in jail??

I really don't want them to break up! He is a really good guy despite the rough spots and a not so great family history. He is going to break up with her because he doesn't think he is good enough!

i work somewhere thats accusing me of stealing $450, which is really discounts on items that were legit. he took it out of my pay check which isn't legal, so i told him to fix it and he said he'd press charges for stealing instead.

I'm in the right with that matter as far as i know, but i don't wanna somehow chance getting a felony marked down for me.

Hello,

I am trying to supoena an officer as a witness and call logs from the defendants wireless carrier as well as a 911 call I made to the police.

For the officer I was told to fill out the supoena to appear and take it to the clerk to stamp and then deliver it to the sherriffs office. However, I am confused since I did not have a private carrier deliver it to the sherrifs office? Is this OK? They stamped it as received and time stamped it.

For supoenaning evidence the forms they provided indicated that the party would be supoened to produce the evidence and would have to show up to court. I only want them to submit the evidence to me and not show up and physically present it. Can I reword the form to say this? Also, when they submit the evidence can I request them to send it to me? Or do they need to send it to the court, and where? Also, are there charges that I am unknown of for supoening the call logs and 911 tape by the wireless company and the police?

Thanks!

My husband and I got into an argument today. He hit me a couple times. I went down to the court house and asked for a protective order against him. All I asked for was to have him ordered to go to counseling with me and anger management. Instead, the judge orders him to stay away from me for a week. I didn't want that! Is it possible for me to cancel everything? Also, I live in Maryland.
