I received a underage drinking citation and I am 17..It's been a while since I've gotten the ticket..i had forgotten all about it because it was a horrible night..I live in WV..and i was wondering what's the worst that could happen?..and i plan on calling tomorrow about it..

Usually, you and a legal guardian will have to go before a judge and he/she will make you pay a fine.

Underage drinking citations are for the most part treated the same as any other citation. You are required to pay the fine and learn from the experience. If you get more than one citation, they can revoke your license. Your license can be suspended for any number of reasons regardless if you were operating a MV or not. DUI is a much more serious offense which can ruin your life or someone Else's. Your insurance has nothing to do with your citation.

The WORST that could happen (in the short term) is that you missed your court date, and there is a warrant issued for your arrest. You would have to go to Jail and then either post a bond or be released on your own recognizance prior to your new court date.

Please call and take care of it soon. There might be a warrant out for your arrest, and you don't need that.

Better take care of it right away. They can suspend your driver's license, you know....
