If you can afford it, get two pairs, that way you will always have a dry pair for the next day. Also, don't forget about socks. A good pair of socks can make all the difference when it comes to your feet

Anything that is water proof. That will keep your feet dry and warm. I wear a boot made by Magnum called Vipers. They are very comfortable and keep my feet dry and warm. You can probably pick up a pair at your local sporting or police equipment store. They are also very flexible and have good traction in the event you have to run. For somewhere around $60.00 they are the best boots I've ever had.

warmth comes from having a layer of air in between your feet and the cold. thus, inside your boots under your socks, you want an insole of the airfilled type.

I used to use insoles that I'd taken out of my cross-trainers [Reeboks, Nike, etc.] That was far more effective in keeping my feet warm than any boot design element back when I lived in Burlington, Vermont.

I wear either the 5.11 Tactical boots when it's just a little chilly outside, or Matterhorns when the weather is really cold and bad. Both are waterproof, but the Matterhorns are Thinsulate insulated. The Matterhorns are heavy, but you feel no cold.
