how can i become a menber of a swat team?

Hi guys, i was born to be a swat, i love to see them doing theyre job, i got theyre movies, davds, even games, i really wanna be a swat, its the best career ever, i dont only want to worry about money, i want a job that i will enjoy, i live in philadelphia, can you guys tell me where is a law enforcement school near me? and why do you have to be a police officer first? man =( i mean, can you just be a swat first, or how long do you have to be a police officer to be swat, and what are the requirements? please tell me. i really wanna be a swat, best job ever.

The path may vary from department to department, but here goes: First you must be hired as a sworn officer, pass the academy and become a patrol officer. Expect to work patrol until your probationary period is over. Most specialized positions require a number of years and an excellent record as a patrol officer before you can apply for them.

UMMM you gotta be a cop first for a few years. Its not easy to get into SWAT. Your first step if you don't plan on getting a degree in criminal justice would be to sign up for the police exam Philadelphia is expecting to offer another exam soon. You would need to register for the exam take it pass and then pass all the other requirements inorder to even get in the academy. hun you have to be an officer on the force and get move to swat that way.
they don't hire off the street for that job.
you can (in del) go thru the academy and be accredited as an officer but not be employed by a department... just looks good on a resume but doesn't make you a cop...
