The government has up to a year and a day to file a charge in most misdemeanor cases.

When you get your citation, go to court. Miss the court date and an unpleasant police officer will show up at your work place, home, or just drag your butt out of your car and serve you with your arrest warrant.

Absolutely not. You received the ticket from an officer and that is your notification which will advise you how long YOU have to appear in court. Failure to do so will result in a bench warrant and suspension of your license for an FAC (FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT).Dont mess around....contact the court and advise them of your plea or send in the fine. It usually states what the fine is on your ticket. If it doesnt...contact the court...
