Just based on what you said nothing. However, the officers will probably take a closer look at you.

Also, if you commit a crime and are standing inside your door the police can come in and arrest you. You don't have to step out on your porch. It would be silly if the door frame of your house held some magical/legal power. The police would have to stand out on your porch and say to each other,"I know he just shot two people out of his kitchen window but darn he won't walk out onto his porch, so we can't arrest him."

One lesson that person needs to learn is respect. If you treat the cops with respect they most likely will respect you too. Truly that is the case with anyone you meet not just cops...but I am sensing that is probably why the cops are at your house in the first place....

Anyhow, it really depends on your local ordinences. No matter if there is a law or not a cop can find a way to apply most laws in many different situations.

Mikeysco is right on. If your in Ca cussing is not a crime unless you follow it up with aggressive actions toward the cops. The best thing you can do is remain calm and be respectful, it goes much easier that way.

If that is all they say and do not charge toward the cop or make any other threatening movement, then nothing. Breach of peace if you are outside and it is bothering someone else.

nothing to be charged with... unless he tries to stop the officer(s) from entering. then it's impeding the investigation. or if he touches the officers assault...
just asking a ? or being a jerk is not breaking the law or anything to be charged with

Possibly impeding with an investigation

obstruction or resisting arrest if you are indeed under arrest..

They may claim assault but good luck to them proving that in court if you have a lawyer on your side

First off, they have to tell you what the charges are. Second off, Never, Never invite a cop into you house. They are like vampires, they can't come in, if you don't invite them. And don't step out of your house. They can arrest you then. Cussing is just words, you know stcks and stones can break my bones, but words will never hurt me.
