I got a ticket for doing 62 in a 45 mph zone. Yes, I did it, but the officer that stopped me was just horrible. I haven't gone to court yet, but I am going since it's my first ticket ever but wanted to know if it's something I can fight? I could tell anybody about the top of his head that should have been covered by his hat. I know that his hair is strawberry blond with a diamond shaped balding spot right in the middle and a routine buzz cut. Also, I know they have to be cautious, but that was a bit freaky when he almost pulled his gun on me when i didn't put my window down since I had just gotten them tinted the day before. Anyway, do you know if I have anything to work with before I go to court in two weeks?

Writing an appreciation letter to the local Police, Fire and Ambulance Stations?
I want to write a complimentary letter to my local Police, Fire and Ambulance Stations... I need to keep it short and I want it to be the best ever yet so it can always be remembered. I'm a teenager and as I see it a thank-you letter is rarely sent by youth these days. I really respect them for what they do and I want to let them know that. I see them driving by but I don't want to disturb them to say 'Hi'. Sometimes I'll see them at a store and ask for an autograph, they seem very surprised yet proud. So, if there is anything someone can help me with, I'd really appreciate it. I'm a good writer but this means a lot to me. I'm an artist, I also want to draw the patrol car along with it. Thank-you.

Ok, my hubby had his license suspended in feb 06, and last week he got pulled over with no license. He went before the judge and is being convicted of: carrying a concealed weapon, drug paraphenilia, and drug abuse. The judge said a possible minimun of 21 months in jail if found guilty. He plead not guilty. We go back on aug 1st to see what happens. My questions are:
1: It's his first offense. Do they have to serve jail time, or just a fine and probation(for the first offense)?
2: Aren't the jails over-crowded anyways?
Please, serious answers only.
Thanks.

Alcohol seems to me to be MUCH more dangerous than marijuana. And you can't get marijuana poisoning! No major side effects that would be any different than smoking tobacco. Am I wrong?

Not debating if Global warming is real, 95% of the scientist think so, we can bury our heads and point to the other 5% and pray all the rest are idiots or we can accept that it is real and plan for the events as they unfold. Should only the coastal areas of the US see oceans rise a few feet, it would destroy real estate and the values. Trillions of wealth would be lost in property, trade, jobs, taxes, etc. Billions extra would be needed to support relocation. The insurance companies and banks with loans and mortgage companies would collapse. It will make us wish for the savings and loans problems of the 80s when we had the RTC. Point is, long before droughts or floods or months-long heat waves hit to cause problems, our financial centers will be gone and people will riot. How do we control civil problems like these?

Is it so that we can attack our government if it gets out of hand? Its sort of like flag burning but a little more violent. Republicans want guns but not flag burning which doesn't make sense. A lot more people are shot each year in the US than in most other countries. We're not exactly responsible with guns. I can hear you saying "It's not the gun that kills it's the person." Isn't it Both? I think that without guns fewer people would die. A gun is just too convenient. Fewer people would be willing to kill if they had to bludgeon someone to do the job. So, does this right comes at the expense of people's lives?

My husband and I bought our first home in this really nice neighborhood a year ago. After living here about 2 months, we realized there was a rental house down the street where this crazy woman, her husband, and 3 children live. The lady has serious problems. She screams obsceneties at her children, and if you even look her way then she's screaming at you. We're pretty sure they are selling drugs because of the traffic pit stops in front of the house all the time and we've seen both the man and woman staggering around the neighborhood. Then one day they moved-in the house directly across the street from us. Now I can't even bring my kids out front with her cursing and screaming, it scares them. I've tried talking to the landlord(slumlord) and she won't do anything. We own our home and have worked hard for it. I don't want them to run me out of my home, I want THEM to leave and so do all of the other neighbors. We're all fed up. Is there any way to legally get them to move?
