Not debating if Global warming is real, 95% of the scientist think so, we can bury our heads and point to the other 5% and pray all the rest are idiots or we can accept that it is real and plan for the events as they unfold. Should only the coastal areas of the US see oceans rise a few feet, it would destroy real estate and the values. Trillions of wealth would be lost in property, trade, jobs, taxes, etc. Billions extra would be needed to support relocation. The insurance companies and banks with loans and mortgage companies would collapse. It will make us wish for the savings and loans problems of the 80s when we had the RTC. Point is, long before droughts or floods or months-long heat waves hit to cause problems, our financial centers will be gone and people will riot. How do we control civil problems like these?

Any system that is dependent on people respecting the rule of order - cannot be controlled when order breaks down -- because then there are no rules, and without rules there is no control.

actually your numbers are way off, 95 percent don't agree, and even those in the US that do, only see a 1 to 2 degree over 100 year. So you base for your what if has no value.

Perhaps we should just start a ban on any more building in possible flood areas, Give them a 20 year deadline to move out of those areas.

So over the next 20 to 30 years, though natural movement and upkeep needed on older buildings, things would just move on thier own.

( oh yes, that would be government control of free right of local government to decide where to build buildings.

Control is easy you merely do like Iraq, Iran, Korea, China or Russia have done for centuries use military force, since Gore and those wish to unarm the population, it should be easy for a armed military to easily wipe out a mob.

Nothing Al Gore says is correct. Stop worrying about "what ifs". 95% of scientist do not think global warming is real. Even if the craziest predictions come true, it will take many generations for disaster as you describe to come true.
