In california if you are not paying child support, you lose your driver's license the only way to reinstate it is to pay 1 month back and current month owed. And you must keep paying faithfully or it will happen again. Come current and show good faith and you can always at anytime seek modification! k

hey there I know that in canada if a mother or father (depending on who has the children) doesn't pay there support they take there licience away and it is not returned until all child suppoirt is payed in full (they suspended your licence) I would just say pay the support so this doesn't happen to you...

I never understood the logic to that rule. . .how can one pay child support if one can't drive to work to earn money? Why not just garnish wages instead?

Yes you deadbeat they can !!Try to take care of your responsibility and you will have nothing to worry about!!! It is a complete shame that the State has to make you take care of something that in good coscience should be willing to do!!!!!!!!!!
