DEFINITELY not. Marijuana use could very well escalate into more heavy drugs. Alcohol is alcohol. Some drinks are stronger than others, but overall, it has the same effect (getting drunk). Different drugs give you different sensations. Once a person gets bored with the sensation of marijuana, they may move onto stronger drugs.
Smoking cigarettes is already enough to ruin a person's health, or the people around them. Just what we need...more ways for people to get sick...

I think we should decriminalize marijuana use. The Prohibition of alcohol during 1930's demonstrated very well how the government could not control alcohol. The same success rate still seems to apply today to marijuana and other drugs. What does the so called war on drugs really do for the average American? Drugs are probably easier to get now than in the 1970's.
I think we should allow citizens to legally have possession of small amounts of an ounce or less. An ounce of a good quality marijuana should last an average user at least a couple of days. If Americans do not allow for possession, their should marijuana bars allowed that are taxed and operated in the same manner as regular bar.
Such bars currently exist in Europe. The same laws for driving under the influence should still be enforced. The government could tax revenues on the bars and have a little bit of control on marijuana usage. I would like for both marijuana bars and possession of small amounts to be legal in the USA.

I see you haven't met my mother. She is the reason I don't smoke weed. You wouldn't want to if you met the woman either. She is also for legalization and decriminalization like yourself. Here is my short impression of you
"Dee - dee -deee!"
marijuana contains small amounts of THC which is a form of acid that through prolonged use can destroy brain cells, cause memory loss and lung damage. Most recreational users enjoy the substance on their own time and simply avoid the law branch at all costs. A good way to get busted is by asking questions like that online. I do not condem usage though. I choose not to participate however. I do condem stupid people. Remember there are no stupid questions. just you.

Both alcohol and marijuana are extremely dangerous when abused. Driving drunk is dangerous, but so is driving stoned. Excessive drinking damages the liver and stomach, while smoking pot damages the lungs and mouth, not to mention all the crappy foods you eat while high. Excessive drinking can lead to one night stands, excessive smoking can lead to being extremely lazy and hence messing up your relationship and career. So they are both dangerous in their own way. I guess they figure if marijuana is decriminalized, it will become more rampant and widespread.

Marijuana may not have the side effects as tobacco, but it is a proven fact that it leads to more dangerous drug. I would bet that 99% of drugs users started out only using pot

Yes ur wrong cause if it was legal people would start abusing the freedom. The it would be more dangerous than alcohol, there would be side effects because it is a drug, and after using it all the time who knows it could be the most deadly thing eva.

Look into NORML. They are pro-legailzation. I think that Alcohol is WAY more dangerous than weed. Most places in the US are trying to get under a ounce legalized for personal use. I have never heard of anyone od'ing from pot either....

George Carlin once said, "The problem with trying to legalize marijuana is, no one can remember where they put the petitions!" I don't use, but don't have any problem with it.
