Okay, say for example, a person has been caught water their gardens under water restrictions and has been caught (this is Australia I'm talking about by the way). Obviously, they'll receive an on the spot fine but I was wondering, would you receive a criminal record? Or is it one of those minor things that they don't really care about?

Any answers will be appreciated. Thankyou!

I've been wondering about this lately: I'm 17, and my boyfriend is 16. He lives in the U.K., where he is of legal age. However, I live in America, where I won't be legal for another year. If we were to have sex right now, would we be breaking some law?

Hi I am not making a point. I was riding my bicycle on the sidewalk & there was also 5 white guys walking on the sidewalk. A police car stop me. Then the 2 police offiers they arroach me ask me question where I was from, were I live & ask me if I was a immigrant??? First I thoght they were looking for a person but, I was wrong. I told them who I was & I even show them my ID. I CAN'T belive they ask me if I was a immigrant. I told them that I am Spanish American. Then they let me go.

I don't understand why & why me instead of those 5 white guys? Last week, when I was on my way home from work, I got stop buy cops again. I got stop is because I did not have a horn or ring bell on my bicycle? I think it was full BS & they told me that they have to check my record & backpack & my pockets to see if I had drugs???

Why this **** happens to me? Now, I am scare to go out & I pray to God that nothing happens to me. I just talk to my family friend for help & get me a lawyer just in case.

I recently just got a new job. Well about a week or two after I got the new job, I found out I was pregnant. In Tennessee, I have read that you must have worked for the company for 12 months in order to be eligible for maternity leave. Since obviously, I won't have worked there 12 months before my baby is due, does this mean I am ineligible for FMLA? Do I have any other options?

I quit my job a while back because my manager was unable to understand my needs. Although he was shocked, he told me I didnt have to work the two weeks and I can leave as soon as my shift is over. After leaving I was interviewed by Apple but didnt get it, also by Old Navy and did not get a call back yet. Did my former manager ruin my records? I have good credit and excellent references. What can I do to prevent future incidents? What can I do to know my own background?

A 69 year old male is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference with a minor (12 year ld child). He's under house arrest. He can't leave the house without a surety. Can he leave the country with a surety? The conditions didn't specify that he can't leave the country. If he can, how can I change the conditions so he can't. He's leaving the country with a surety on Nov. 19, 2007 and coming back on Dec. 6. but I don't think he's coming back. Please someone advise me of how I can go about stopping htis PEDOPHILE from leaving the country. Thank-you.

I was involved in a car accident over the weekend- I was making a left hand turn with a green arrow on to the highway and this guy blew through his red light and t-boned me going about 45mph. Needless to say the car was toatled and I was pretty sore and I told the police officer and he asked if I wanted to go to the hospital- I was out of state and I didn't know anything about where I was and had no family close so I refused and signed a release from the ambulence stating that I wouldn't go to the hospital. Now 4 days later I have HORRIBLE back pain- no joke I can't even sit up straight- I am going to the chiropractor tomorow but my question is- If the chiropractor finds some damage (which I'm sure he will) am I still able to sue the guy that hit me even though I refused medical attention at the scene? I guess its important to say that we have the same insurance company and that the other driver was sited for running a red light and causing an accident- i wasn't at fault at all.

Thanks for all your help Raichasays!!! My suit is all about ethics. My previous lawyer purposly ruined my case against the business. My suit is now against my lawyer. Nobody will sue a lawyer even if I have absolute proof that the case was not handled in an ethical way. I did not state every exact reason why I am suing my lawyer in my complaint. Since the Defendants lawyer did not file a demurrer maybe I don't need to further define the exact instances of unethical behavior of my ex lawyer that I'm suing. Can a jusge dismiss a case without asking me to further define myself? I want to be sure I head off problems before the judge dismisses the case.

That's right 30-million people starved before Yahoo! and GE went to China. 5-times the number of Jews that died in the holocaust.

It is so easy for people living in the US to lash out against China. Oooh, oppression this ... Oooh communist that ... Oooh, some guy went to jail for 10-years for mailing something that is marked "state secret" to a foreign agency ...

Don't get me wrong I think the Chinese government is heavy-handed and that the imprisonment of Shi Tao is regrettable. But it is neither Yahoo's fault, nor is it Yahoo's responsibility to try to change China's political system. Over the list 20-years, China has lifted 1-billion people out of poverty with the liberalization of their economy and the adoption of capitalism. China does not need the US to tell them what to do, the people are much happier than they were, and they are no longer starving to death. That should be enough for you and I.

I don't mean LEGALLY, but MORALLY to you. Because, remember something: nothing is wrong BECAUSE it is illegal; It's supposed to be illegal because it's wrong. Right?

The son of an acquaintence of mine who at 18 slept with a 15 year old, and now he's having to register for the rest of his life as a sex offender. Is there not something wrong with that picture? He's being put in prison for years where HE WILL GET RAPED. So, who's the rapist here? This boy, or the state?

For AP US History, we're doing a mock trial of the 1866 Supreme Court Case of Ex Parte Milligan. I'm supposed to be defending Milligan. Can anyone think of some defenses I could use?

So far, my biggest point I've been able to think of is whether he deserves due process or not (need to back this up) and whether he deserves a civilian trial versus a military one.

Let's say Jack and Bob are buyers and sellers. Jack wants to sell his house and Bob wants to buy it. They both write up a contract for sale and sign it but said the price will be set later. A week later Jack decides not to sell it and doesn't tell Bob.
Bob takes jack to civil court. Who wins this case and why? Do they actually have a contract or since they didn't set a price so they don't? What are the legal principles?
